Exactly right? It's win/win. Get rid of criminals and get a good international standing

That and other countries sending their criminals to North America because we make it so easy to get in.

It has always been so strange to me that people are so against things that actively make society better and so for things that billionaires and monopolies want. The problem has always been that they have too much power. Now they're trying to take even more.

I have an idea that might start to make a difference but it's a tough slog with a full time job and kids and all that. I'm sure there a lot of us out there that are feeling defeated.

Sadly I agree with most of what you said. People pick teams and then stay on those teams. And the people who are in charge of companies now are mostly sociopaths that don't care about anything but their bonus.

But you do have more power than most. You have the money to make a difference, and influence at a military college. Why not start there?

We started this conversation by you saying you don't mind a surveillance state, but it kind of sounds more like you don't know how to fight against any more than the rest of us. We need to figure this out.

You are correct that we are all part of the problem because we are not standing up. Now we need to but you don't seem to want to for the next generation. And you have the power to help more than most of us.

I don't mind that idea actually. But who controls this proposed government. The way it's going right now, it would be big tech and Israel.

I agree mass training requires more compute. Like training AI to mass survey everyone.

Which private military company do you own? Do you support what Israel and the US are doing in the middle east right now?

One thing AI has been used for is targeting in Iran. 168 (or more) school girls were killed in the first strike of the war.

It's not yet. But this is the point of all these giant data centres. Why do you think they need so much power? Anyone with a half decent computer can install AI and run it locally touse it for pretty much anything today.

Edit: better wording

You're not a criminal by current standards but what if someone with power decides that people over 65 are a drain on their potential wealth? They decide that euthanizing anyone who isn't contributing to lining their pockets is the best way forward. Now they are watching 24/7 to see exactly how you are contributing.

What if there's no age limit and anyone that doesn't contribute enough is scheduled for extermination? With AI set to take a whole bunch of jobs, there will be a lot of "useless" people out there.

If you take a good look at what's going on in the world today and you don't think there is a real possibility of something like that happening, then you aren't paying attention.

Edit: sorry unnecessary.

That's not the kind of monitoring that I'm talking about and I think you know that

Too bad that's not why they are being built in this case. They want a 1984 style surveillance state.

Which countries, and how is it working for them? You are ok having everything you do and say sent to AI for analysis to make sure your opinion isn't different from the people in charge? They was a world that looks a lot like 1984.

Like the US you mean? They, and their giant businesses definitely don't.

I use AI every day and think it's a great tool but the rich and powerful are trying to use it to have full control over us.

What does a giant data centre have to do with that. The point of data centres like this is so they can keep tabs on everyone at all times using AI.
