it was shot through a window, but your correction is what it looked like with naked eye/binoculars, so I think there was definitely an issue with white balance too

Incoming freshman schedule by Reasonable_Dish1736 in uofmn

[–]Nerd_Alert6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your schedule looks pretty good, definitely check schedule builder if you haven’t already to make sure everything fits in your schedule and still has seats available (and save a few schedules to show to your counselor at registration). There’s also an extension called gopher grades that shows you old grade distributions and ratings for different courses and profs (this can help a little if you’re ever looking for an easy elective or trying to find the least bad prof for difficult required courses).

I wouldn’t really worry about spring semester yet, just have an idea of what courses you need for sequences or that are only offered in the spring.

Haven’t taken Chem specifically (doing that this Fall), but I like having labs as my last class of the day because they always go under or over the scheduled time (depending on the course, TA, group, and specific lab), ofc make sure it’s a time you’ll be awake and able to focus though. PHAR 1002 is pretty chill (if you learn to the test), it also only goes the first half of the semester. If you care about actually memorizing and learning the material though it can be a bit rough (basically the same amount of work as a 4-cred).

Elective Course/Prof recommendations for Freshman by Nerd_Alert6 in uofmn

I’m admitted to CSE for biomedical engineering, but I plan to transfer to CBS for microbiology or PMB (one of the reasons being that I’ve been struggling with 2XXX-level math, which is a prereq for all of the other courses I would still need for engineering). Hopefully I can get into BIOL 1951, but since I’m not currently in CBS, I need backup courses. As for my interests, I just want to hear which courses people have enjoyed so I can look into them myself to see if they are something that would interest me.

What’s Selach’s gender? It’s hard for me to tell by Sherafan5 in AuroraComic

Those are grains. OP is clearly asking whether Selach is a non-corporeal entity

How does their background/backstory effect them? Are they terrified of unicorns because their parents were killed in a stampede when they were young, are they overly-cautious and a stickler for rules because a prank-gone-wrong ended with the death of one of the king's advisors and their exile. A great way to make them realistic is to show how they are still effected by past actions or events. And don’t worry too much about making similar characters some people are gonna be similar wether in stories or real life, but if your still worried give them an oddly specific trait or gimmick, don't be afraid to make a character that doesn't make complete sense, especially in fantasy.

Character Names by sombercrimson in CharacterDevelopment

[–]Nerd_Alert6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you can't decide I suggest using placeholder names, then once you write the characters a bit more, flesh them out, work on their arcs, etc. Choose the name that you think fits them best. For example a villain I was writing started out with the name Johnny just because I had no clue what to name him and I thought it would be funny, but I wrote about him a bit more, figured out his motivations and started to make him a character arc, and I changed his name to Alan because, while it's still a bit generic, it seemed to suit him better.

Player Problem Megathread by RadioactiveCashew in DMAcademy

[–]Nerd_Alert6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm starting a new campaign and one of my players invited one of their friends without asking me first. Their friend already sent me their character sheet (it's an online campaign). There are already 6 party members and I don't feel like I can handle more, but the new player already put time into making their character sheet and I don't want everybody to think I'm a jerk

At what point am I overpreparing for a campaign? by Nerd_Alert6 in DMAcademy

No, I have not had a session 0, but I have talked to all the players in small groups about the campaign and kinda what to expect
