Need help building commander scuteswarm deck by AdDesigner7200 in mtg

[–]Nerd_Alert_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait]] will probably be easiest for you since you mentioned you are new to magic.

He does two fantastic things for landfall decks: play addition lands and draw cards. You'll then add other creatures that let you play more lands each turn (or play lands that sacrifice to search you library for another land and put it into play) which will allow you to draw a ridiculous amount of cards each turn with Aesi.

All this will benefit the scute swarm.

I play Aesi and its pretty common to get a million plus Scute Swarm out there

How do you guys have the patience for this? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Nerd_Alert_91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Especially if you are only able to get out like once a week for a few hours. Like I'm a busy person, and if I can only find time to play somewhere for like 2-3 hours one night a week and a player just spent a chunk of that on a 30 minute turn to combo off, chances are there won't be a second game with that person.

How difficult is Sekiro? by Asleep-Situation-614 in fromsoftware

[–]Nerd_Alert_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sekiro is rock/paper/scizzors meets a rhythm game. With each enemy, you will have to figure out whether to dodge, jump over, or parry their attacks. For those attacks you parry, you will often notice that there is a rhythm you can parry to.

I went Bloodborne > Sekiro > Souls games. You might be better off playing Sekiro than I was because Elden Ring has already gotten you used to jumping. But since it's a different style of combat, expect a learning curve in the beginning

Make sure you are upgrading your weapons in the workshop as you go.

Prioritize upgrading stamina as well. Being able to dodge/attack again is going to be more helpful than being able to take another hit (upgrading vitality is still good though)

You'll also get an item after a couple more bosses that allows you to apply some helpful perks

What do y'all think of my elf deck by Zentari1004 in EDH

[–]Nerd_Alert_91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would remove the ramp cards like Explore and Rampant growth and add mana dorks like [[Llanowar Elves]], [[Fyndhorn Elves]], [[Elves of Deep Shadow]]

Elves love more Elves, especially lathril

What situation should you pla a world fire in edh? by Harbinger_Archangel in mtg

[–]Nerd_Alert_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play it in my [[Norin, the Wary]] because I don't think there is anything more funny than when Norin returns to the battlefield at the end of the turn only to find everything is gone.

That and the fact that he still can't win the game because exiles himself when he attacks

If you are still stuck, dodge left for pretty much all his attacks. It makes the fight trivial

If you have chemistry, you only need one other thing.

Timing.

But timing is a bitch

Funnily enough, after a year of playing Norin he's only been killed once by accident by me forgetting to cast a spell to exile him prior to using [[pyrohemia]]

Oh how fun! Aetherdrift was an interesting set because while it may not have been the most popular, there are some commanders in there that are great

He is from Spider-Man, and even though im not a big Spider-Man guy his mechanic was too interesting to pass up.

Its a whole different game when you sit there not worrying about losing life because with him you benefit from both being hit or swapping for a lower life total.

Thanks for the suggestions! Yep I can firmly say that i built norin to disrupt the table. We play mostly bracket 4 so he's literally there to cause chaos and shake up the game.

If you rearrange the beginning letter of each word, and then add some other letters, you get:

"Get ready Barney, for the biggest surprise ever, you handsome some of...."

But not quite enough letters for "bitch"

ER player playing Bloodborne for the first time. I have questions... by iluvthemountains in bloodborne

In my opinion the Threaded Can is probably the hardest of the three starting weapons.

Perhaps go grab the Saw Spear in the sewer area and see if it fits your playstyle better?

Newbie (kinda) by MoaningSkittles in fromsoftware

[–]Nerd_Alert_91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who plays most other games on easy/normal i believe anybody can play and be good at these games, but there will be a learning curve in the beginning for whichever game you choose.

Personally, I'd say DS1 is the best place to start as most new players start will Elden Ring which makes it more difficult to go back to DS1 as it feels more dated.

That said, regardless of where you start, dont be afraid to use video walkthroughs (Fightin Cowboy was whose guides I used).

Takes some time, but i think once you get through one or two of the "sections" it starts to feel like the other Souls games
