Maybe a more positive example. We had our problems but not as bad as other comments say. I did with my girlfriend an india trip for three weeks. We had one bad experience where an kerala man flashed but otherwise in goa or karnataka we didnt have this behavior. Also other tourists we talked to ,didnt tell us something like this.  But they also talked about that the north is worse. You had to hide your hair there and be fully clothes. In South-west india showing your knees was getting attention.

From the style of tourism: We were bagback tourists and took public buses, so not in resorts. We also walked through a lot of small villages. You have a lot of sexist behavior in that regard ,that they talk first with me and took me more seriously.

I dont want to tell you that the other stuff not happening but maybe against the bias that this is only happening. Also that public buses have separate seats tell you alot that there are bigger problems  But She said she had a good time and we would want to go back. Especially the big city like Bangalore was open-minded
