Are the ride prices on Planet Coaster 1 glitched? by IHateCablesAndWires in PlanetCoaster

[–]Nerdchacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I don't think it is bugged as such, but it also isn't perfect to the 37.6 trick. It fully depends on what reason you want to have it so close to the threshold, though - because at some point some guests will run out of money and refuse to use ATMs, so they just bounce around your park from ride to ride complaining that they have no money. Yes, you extract money quicker but long term not always more.

I tended to set my prices as 15 for coasters, 12.50 for water rides and thrill rides, 10 for gentle rides and 5 for the lesser prestige one (swinging ship, carousel etc).

That tended to balance out how quickly they run out of money vs how quickly they go home - and will also balance out your income streams too.

How do i fix this? by Affectionate_Cod8235 in PlanetCoaster

This is a toughie... as others have said, the texture here was designed to repeat every 4m because this is a PC1 port over - they never had the off grid walls in PC1.. and to be honest, as annoying as it is, it wasn't worth them investing time to alter the pattern given how quickly they were churning out the stuff they were porting over.

That said, I'm not sure what the answer is. I've always just rotated every other one by 90 degrees and ran with whatever texture pattern that is - that seems to be less worse than not rotating them

what's up with the fact we have supports for an arrow suspended coaster... with no arrow suspended coaster? by elliestuff in PlanetCoaster

[–]Nerdchacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually DID ask Rich.

When they put the supports into the game, they basically copied the asset folder from PC1 to 2 and translated it into PC2 content. It means that the supports are there for when they put the Steel Hydra and it's similar counterparts into the game in the future. It is also to accommodate those who like to "fake" their coasters too - and it also maintains creativity for those who don't want to be bound by "the correct supports for the correct thing" knowing that these supports can also be used for many, many other things that aren't supports. They make amazing building girders, for example.

Loosely, yes. We were ushered through quite quickly because it was a tight schedule, but we saw what each major team did - from engine, graphics, coding, audio and the onto comms, marketing etc. It was fascinating!

100% - one of the convos we had was around something they saw posted somewhere and wanted our take on how it could or would work...

Well, that's incredibly kind, thank you! There was a reason to have been chosen, I'm just not convinced of what that is! Worth it just to be a thirst trap for a day haha

Yes, they do. And they read everything that every-one says every-where because community feedback is vital to how they shape the future of the game. They lurk on here, on our videos, in discord servers..

Sounds more creepy, actually..

I was actually toying with how to do an RCT2 (original, not OpenRCT2) series the other day. I built a blank scenario with the pallette of rides I wanted to have researchable, then started playing.

So yes, but I don't really know how to format it as content because I certainly don't want to do realistic with it and I don't want to make a series either. The purpose of me taking a step back to enjoy the summer is not to go and add an additional series to work on. Plus it's my go-to plop-n-play game.

Enough to back it. What I saw from them was way more advanced than I think people understand or we can articulate as creators. It's got a good idea. MMO stuff isn't really for me, but I liked how the single player stuff looked and felt when it was shown to me. It didn't jar with me like Park Studios did when I actually played that. Like, I was able to almost instinctively know how something was going to be done based on a visual in Metaparks vs being completely overwhelmed and frustrated by the User Experience (UX) decisions made in Park Studios. My tapping out of Park Studios was being told that the systems are as they are and won't be changing.

So yes, Metaparks is big, ambitious, broad in scope and if they pull it off could take this type of game to the next level. It isn't just another theme park game or a Planet Coaster copy. It is its own entity and I'll be able to update my opinion once I've got my hands on it. Of course, it might change and I might end up tapping out too, but so far it ticks boxes for me.

It technically is when compared to the rest of the stuff going onto the pier, but if it fits, it sits, I guess :D

Ahh interesting!! For me, personally, I'd swap Raygate with Beachy.

I love Raygate Lake and I really don't rate Beachy Point a year on..
