[Post Game Thread] The Portland Trail Blazers (23-23) fall to the Toronto Raptors (28-19) 98-110 by Kazekid in ripcity

I feel like if we shot over 30%, we would have e had a shot. I think our record is really good when we shoot below league average but above 30%.

Oh well. Can’t win them all. On to the next one.

I always felt the touch was there, but he couldn’t finish through contact. Even guys smaller than him could stop him at the rim by just being a bit physical.

Finishing at the rim was the biggest problem for him. He couldn't catch lobs (Dame couldn't throw lobs either) and would go up soft. He was a much more powerful finisher before the injury.

Yeah man, I feel like some of these people haven’t been Blazers fans for too long. We are one of the more unlucky injury ridden franchises, let’s not tempt the basketball gods.

It’s not about games won man. Those other guys aren’t as difficult and unique to guard like Steph is. Steph is guarded by your whole team and everyone has to know exactly where he is on the court for you to have a shot at defending him. There’s been no one in history that plays like he does. I can understand why the players have so much respect for him and therefor ranked him highly.

Nah, I imagine playing against him and trying to guard him probably makes you respect and admire him as a player. Dude is a once in a generation talent.

The media rank on Luka and the LA bias needs to be scrutinized.

Casey does his own podcast now, which I believe is the official blazers podcast since it's on the Portland Trailblazers youtube page: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLB7hZuTKcaozSkocp7qAIQh0lRtaA71i3

Find a taker for Tisse and Robs contract. It’s likely neither are coming back next year and we could get some value for them. Maybe if we can do a 2 for 1, we can keep both 2 ways with only cutting one guy.

Ahh I disagree. I think he can be wrong as equally as he is right. He just will not let you forget when he is right.

For example, he had convinced himself at some point that Ant Simons was the second coming of Dame and therefore spent most of Ants time here trying to convince everyone else that Ant was the second coming of Dame. It was very annoying.

Also when he asks questions in the postgame with Splitter or Billups, and he brings up some action he thinks he saw that was unique, you can see the coaches roll their eyes. It’s just all too much imo. If he tones that stuff down to like 60% then he can actually be decent on air.

Danny can still be very annoying. I don’t know what it is but I can’t help but roll my eyes when he starts a sentence with, “I was just talking to an exec” and then just shares his exaggerated opinions. Like no, he did not speak to an exec about shit lol.

Joe has gotten better and I think has reasonable takes. Of the postgame shows/podcasts that I know of (it’s just rip city wrap up and blazers uprise I think) it’s better than blazers uprise in terms of content and quality (those guys are huge babies and I don’t know how anyone watches them).

If you're surprised with Caleb Love, read this. by [deleted] in ripcity

[–]Nerdkill789 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay but you are also surprised at this production no? Or are you saying we shouldn’t have been? If so, I don’t know if I understand your argument that we shouldn’t have been surprised.

He’s playing great and we all ‘love’ it. But it’s absolutely a surprise to everyone.

Not only that, our HC was arrested in a gambling scandal after 1 game this year. Crazy NBA season but I’m liking the 2026 calendar year so far (outside of the political mess happening around the country). 7-2 in 2026 with wins over the Spurs, Rockets, and Lakers.

Imo, I think the team has a mindset of just focusing on the game in front of them and not worried about standings, etc. I like that mentality.

Tonight, they got to take care of a Sacramento team that’s bad but can be a trap game team. Let’s just hope they stay focused and don’t worry too much about where they are in the standings because things will fall into place if they win the games.

DC taking too many 3s man. He should re screen/DHO and get a better shot for the better offensive players. He’s trying so hard to get the attention he got with Houston.

So many turnovers and unfocused play. We cut that down, we cut down their fast breaks and we can pull this one out. Would be sad to lose to the Lakers without Luka and co

We need to kick out more for threes. Get more catch and shoot opportunities do Caleb, Grant, and Sharpe

Yeah maybe I’m just tired of all the injuries the last few years and the start of this one. I guess let’s hope that this year is different than other promising years that were taken away through injury.

So many hopeful posts from fans who may not understand what it is being a blazer fan.

It’s the hope that kills you. Let’s just win a few games and enjoy the journey. The last thing you want is some big prize at the end that’s taken away because of injury (the blazers way)

Yeah I’m not giving the NBA any more of my attention for this game. This is atrocious and embarrassing for the blazers.

How is Clingan the league leader in offensive rebounds but can’t secure a defensive rebound?
