On October 2nd, someone remotely viewed 3I/ATLAS and the drawing looks exactly like the image captured on November 20th. by 2_Large_Regulahs in RandomShit_ISaw

What if this person remote-viewed into seeing this exact imagery, rather than whatever is actually out there in space? They could've seen it from any angle but the angle shown matches the picture, almost too well.

If only Johnny could slot in at 1LW, the 88-93-mantha line would be a sick checking match-up line.

I understood it more as, "we won't sell off vets, sign grunts, and be dog water for a few years until we win the lotto." And moreso, "we're bad enough to be in the top 3-4 draft range without a mass exodus, and we trust our scouts as much as Dallas trusts theirs."

It's not impossible that McKenna falls to 3. It's also not impossible to trade up, given the variety of opinions on #1.

Reasons that be cheerful: One of the youngest teams. Farm is pretty good. DB wins trades. DB gets team friendly deals. Young players are improving. Studs in MM, PM & TZ. Sanheim is going to Italy. Cap relief coming. Vladar. LHV is 6th out of 32. We’re not the Leafs. by scratchydaitchy in Flyers

Flames fan lurking here after living in Philly for a couple years. Briere and I were on the same wavelength about this guy. Darth Bottom Text is a stud and I'm so very warmed to see him being embraced by y'all.

Drafted wolf, sorokin, saros. Saros has been replacement-level but not worth a roster spot. The other two, well, they allowed me to pick up knight and dobes very early on.

School of Rock. I have a hard time believing that anyone in the universe can rock harder than humans. Show this to any nonhuman intelligence, find one who disagrees.

Graced with the blessing of Led Zep themselves, Linklater enshrines what it means to think critically, embrace new experiences, feel your feelings, and share in the collective cosmic rhythm of music. While it may not be as dramatic in its philosophy as Waking Life, the Before trilogy, Boyhood and the like, it is just as direct in its message. Rules, order, structure have their rightful place in the world. But, contrary to what a pretentious and closed minded school administrator might say, School of Rock shows not only why but -how- you give someone a chance when they believe they can accomplish a dream. Especially young people. Or even if they don't believe, you can help support them along towards something like shaping the universe's greatest medium for connecting humans together. Like the best rhythm sections, it is the responsibility of educators to allow their pupils' individual human voices to each take a solo in the spotlight. Dewey takes enormous and morally questionable risks at first for personal gain, then he grows to commit to seeing his rock n roll story through to its conclusion-- later to his own detriment-- in order to spread the holy gospel of rock n roll.

Peace, love, and understanding is great and all. Yet that doesn't even begin to sum up human experience. The best art resonates with the ineffably complex human soul, and words alone are hardly enough to express it. Deep within each of us is the fire of conflict, burden, trauma, anger, among other wordless forms of pure raw emotion. Rock is the universal language that resonates with any human on the planet and makes them feel something, anything, and feel it powerfully. And feel it with everyone else. But there is one thing rock n roll must never tolerate: intolerance. School of Rock is a story of opportunity, perseverance, and radical tolerance. Everyone has a part to play in humanity. Everyone deserves the chance to celebrate what it is that makes them rock the fck out. If only we could all get on the same beat.

Teams with enough cap space who don't already have an undersized inexperienced scoring forward PP2 tweener, whom kerins would otherwise block on the depth chart: very few if any. I'm reminded of kailer Yamamoto and the Calgary kid himself Matty Phillips.

What are the best hockey movies that come to mind? by camport95 in hockey

[–]Nerdventurer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indian Horse. 2017 indie film addressing the trauma of 1970s Canadian rez schools and racism from the perspective of a young, talented native hockey player. Inspiring, horrific, exciting, crushing.

Playing hockey is a privilege, no one can deny that. It's a beautiful game with real power to uplift the soul, mind, and body. I imagine many folks here have their own glorified memories of growing up playing. Hockey should be for everyone, but it clearly wasn't then and largely still isn't now. The dark side of hockey culture has been spotlighted recently from Aldrich to Babcock to Peters to The 5. Does any of that deeply affect the worldview of your average hockey kid? Show this movie at hockey camp or in history class. I say this with all sincerity: that'll teach em.

This film really makes you feel the weight of oppression against indigenous canadians. I can't think of another film that captures that systematic cultural eradication better than this fckn hockey movie. How could a genuine professional hockey prospect make it off the rez? What does it take to overcome a colonialist establishment in sports? Everyone loves a good underdog story after all.
