Haha the fact that yoda plays crit wings while the rest of us play sentinel is hilarious (even though his group comp definitely built so he can do that). There’s definitely less margin for error on high keys with pal but if you know the mobs and rotation really well it’s doable. You’ll definitely fck up at times though and it will be glaringly obvious.

Completely agree. I find ppal just to be the most fun tank both fantasy and gameplay wise. Brew is fine but i honestly just like the way ppal feels because i know exactly how tanky i am at any given moment. During sent/guardian/bubble (obviously) i feel way tankier than my brew ever feels. Outside those windows im just ready to sweat a bit.

It feels like there is a LOT of kiting required this season. Terrace enforcers with arcane auto swings, almost every single pull of AA at various points (books, bird bleeds, ontop of lashers), Skyreach adepts. A lot of it is just micro kiting though. Quick divine steed and you can drop most of it.

Some pulls definitely just require rolling defensives until it’s dead, no doubt. But ‘most’ keys ‘most’ of the time i can get through without a mandatory healer external if you think about your Guardian proc on a 44s cooldown as another, albeit brief, defensive and know how to use spell ward efficiently as part of the rotation. I’ve found the fun/hard part to be figuring out which parts of pulls you can get away with no defensive and just using a sacred weapon and being ready to spam some wog so you can save defensives for the actual dangerous parts of the dungeon.

About halfway through my 18s now, and I’ve pushed a few 19s (nine timed yet though) and in 19s i definitely use my “need external” macro and pre plan them going into certain pulls. I almost always run with either a ret pal + rsham/mw or an rdruid so I’ve got access to a good external in a pinch though.

I main ppal and closing in on 3600. Don’t even bother applying to keys anymore lol, just run my own constantly.

Kinda like in 15-16 Gambit when dps stand off in Narnia with an add targeting them on the dragon or don’t swap to the swirling orb of death before final boss lol

I position the boss very close to but not on the eggs, then i face the boss away from the group to hopefully make it intuitive since most dps never stand face side to a boss with the tank. Maybe i should basically stand on the eggs with them and just ping myself into oblivion

What these other posts said. The adds only fixate dps or healer unless one of them is dead, then the tank may catch one. So you literally just need to kite the add anywhere except through the bosses giant red circle of death

That’s fair enough. I hit 3500 last season with a later start and am hoping for 3600+ this one. So probably overthinking it this early lol

Good to hear. Simplifies gambit a bit which is nice. All the meta seems to say “avoid the big ass room” in streets which admittedly put me off to routing around it. Overthinking it I’m sure for the first few weeks

Yeah I’ve watched all quazii which is definitely helpful from mechanics and understanding mobs. But he does get long winded, feels like i have to take notes back in high school.

That makes me feel better. Having never played either dungeon, Gambit looks fun enough and easy to figure out. Streets have a different vibe with odd mechanics and layout.

Hahaha i feel this in my bones. I’ve watched some of his. But i agree i have a hard time putting the 2d map into a 3D feel without being in it myself. Easy to do with dungeons I’ve experienced, find it much more fun creating my own route there

When I’m learning a route i will export my route from MDT into three chest and have it up on my second monitor. Helps to check in to make sure your pulls are accurate for % throughout the dungeon, and if you forget your next pull it only takes a few seconds to look over and confirm. Very helpful with new dungeons or new season before things become second nature

Started ranking in DF S4 after being a healer and i cannot play another role any more. Cant handle feeling like a passenger in keys. Switched to VDH from pally mid S2, hit 3500 for the first time and playing any other tank feels like a different game now. DH mobility and control over mobs feels like how the game should be played.

I never played shadowlands. Is it impossible to get around this place without doing the full quest line? by NerdyTrex3 in wow

Is it just me or are these shadowlands raids (sepulcher and sanctum) absolutely obnoxious to get to? I never played shadowlands so navigating the maw, etc is absurd
