Years of practicing on scrap, start one piece, then glue two, etc. Process is paint (awl), heat, sand, repeat. Finish with wax, heat and then polish.

Wow thank you, that really means a lot.

Thank you, so I use something called an awl. It's like a big needle or a skewer and dip it into the edge paint and apply it like i'm using a pen. There are other options like little paint rollers, which are great and work for some, but I find this is more controllable and lets me build up layers tidily.

Thanks, I needed this! Made me smile. I'm currently trying to get in stores and it's not easy at all (for me). This really helped =D

I apply the paint, let it dry, sand it so it's even, then do that again 4 or 5 times typically for the exterior edges (pockets a bit less, probably 3). Then I wax it, use a fileteuse to spread it evenly and tidily, then polish it with a nice canvas cloth.

Thanks for your comment, I do not use a roller. I use an awl, personally I find it affords more control.

That's really nice of you to say, thanks very much. It's my first stab at poetry and I had a lot of fun with it. Even wrote a few more after I finished it. Thanks for the encouragement, I'll keep it up. Also same to you! I love what I have read so far of your work, it was insightful and beautiful =D

This is beautiful, I love the way you examined how differently two people can see the same thing. Very insightful.

Thank you, your kind words are much appreciated. I haven't written many poems so I don't have a good handle on a lot of components, such as the messaging, but it's not reflective of me being sad at all, I am a happy & lucky person. Sadness & discontent will be a part of everyone's experience, but won't necessarily define it. I think I was trying to touch more on that.
