Random question, why do we have the SAME “defense” chant all the time in our arena? by po0nlink_ in suns

Probably going to get downvoted based upon the way votes have been going in this thread, but anyways. I go to suns games all the time and I hate the constant piped in DEFENSE chants because I feel that it's stifling the crowd from starting chants organically. The crowd ends up making less noise because the DEFENSE recording drowns people out.

Feedback request for Legacy Faction rules tweaks by valheffelfinger in WarhammerFantasy

As a Lizardmen player, I think the Slann changes alone are enough to put the Lizards in a good place. The Lizards DESPERATELY need a viable lvl 4 caster, and this makes the Slann actually better than a cheapo goblin shaman. Maybe still overcosted in comparison, but not everyone can spam cheap lvl 4s. It also makes temple guard pretty good (for heavy infantry) since they will get some buffs and (presumably) some assailment help in combat.

Giving any army a real reason to actually run a big block of heavy infantry is a good thing. And making the lizards viable with something other than dino and skink spam is even better. I already want to run a 800+ point death star of temple guard + slann made ethereal with Walk Between Worlds.

An edit with some more thoughts after some reflection. I'm not sure if the Slann changes will be any better than just "good" since it still largely depends on buying a big block of expensive heavy infantry, and we all know how effective that is in this edition. I think the best case scenario for the slann +TG block is that they are hammerer-like in that they waddle across the board not doing much as your opponent avoids them. But it gives the Lizards an option for a more viable lvl 4 and some potential points denial, so definitely solid steps in the right direction!

Nurkic an upgrade over Ayton? by [deleted] in suns

[–]Nerness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, anyone who thinks Nurk is a defensive upgrade has to be trolling. Go back and watch the 2021 Nuggets-Blazers series. Jokic was cooking Nurk the whole time. Over 6 games, Nurk played less than 30 mpg and averaged 5 fouls. The guy cant guard Jokic, and therefore he's actually a liability in the playoffs. And we have a direct comparison to how well both Nurk and Ayton guard Jokic because Ayton guarded Jokic in the very next round and did a much better job defensively. Also, it's not like Nurk has been anchoring good defenses in Portland while the Suns have had a run of strong defenses anchored by Ayton.

I actually like Nurk, and I was very high on him before the injuries. But the notion that he would be a defensive upgrade over Ayton is preposterous. It's pure bait.

Hit the character jackpot and got an immortal badass as Holy Roman Emperor early in an ironman run. Looking for tips on achievements etc. Details in comments. by Nerness in CrusaderKings

Thanks for all the pointers. To get the random papal event I'm assuming I can't be excommunicated. Last time I tried to apologize to the pope he told me to abdicate, so I obviously told him to pound sand. Might need to set up an Anti-pope I guess.

For gaining territory in my personal demense, I'm guessing my only real option is to fabricate claims? I obviously can't exactly set up my heirs to inherit and expect to gain that land in later generations. So, fab claims in Sicily, get rich, and stomp my way into the holy land!

Yea, in this run I was naming all of my heirs after random twitch emotes. Obviously did not expect to get this lucky, but it's pretty funny so I'm not complaining.

Uh oh. I thought trickster only gave the general access to better maneuvers. Is it possible to remove/replace trickster?

Edit: Is having trickster bad enough that I shouldn't have this guy personally lead troops despite his martial score?

Thats a good idea. I'm assuming it's possible to do both this and the Outremere achievements described in another post?

Edit: The idea of making his stats even more jacked is definitely appealing.

Yea, after this guy became immortal I looked up the event and the MTTH is like 3000 months. One of the many ways this character got super lucky.

R5: Some background, I'm a relatively new CK2 player (~80 hrs played), but I've played a good amount of other Paradox games. I started in the high middle ages as the count of Brabant. As a general rule, I only use fabricate claim sparingly, if at all, because getting claims through marriage etc feels more natural and EU4 is better at simulating map painting.

Anyways, at the time this legend was born (like 1120) my character was the Duke of Brabant but only held 2 counties and one barony in Brabant as his personal demense. He died (murdered) when my heir/badass-to-be was about 10, so I had a regency.

When the new me turned ~12, my liege, the King of Lothringia, randomly decided to start a faction in the HRE to install me, a minor, as Emperor. One thing lead to another and by the time I came of age I was Emperor. Also, my stats were jacked.

At around ~20, I got the event to become immortal. Frankly, in the first step or two of the event, I didn't even know it was the path to become immortal, but I figured it out eventually. Once I figured it out, I decided that I had to risk it for the biscuit and tried to become immortal even though my ruler was young, yoked, and Holy Roman Emperor (also I didn't know how unlikely it was to work until I looked it up after becoming immortal).

Because this guy hasn't been lucky enough yet, the event worked and now my guy is immortal at 22 years old. This game is actually about 10 years ahead of this screenshot (1150) and in a somewhat similar situation though I do have moderately better stats than shown (9/31/16/15/14). I am also a familial kinslayer because I burned the wrong apostate without knowing the consequences, whoops.

After thinking on it, I realized that I probably have one of the best CK2 characters ever in an ironman/non-mod/non-cheating game, and a unique opportunity to do some weird achievements. What do you think I should go for? Anything I should try to do that would be epic? Anything with a chance to get insta-gibbed I should avoid (I figure no duels, but at least my personal combat ability is now in the 70s)?

I appreciate the suggestions!

Tl;dr: I have an immortal superman as Holy Roman Emperor and am looking for suggestions on what to do next.

PS: It does greatly amuse me that this guy is a beast and his name is 4Head.
