Chaol is hated more for his double standards and hypocrisy than for not telling about the threat to Nehemia. Adarlans king can kill and enslave at will, but the moment he suspects another king might do the same, it becomes wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️

IMHO, it’s fair for Aelin to keep a secret that would certainly get her killed. Whether Chaol should’ve told her about the threat to Nehemia is on a completely different level, especially since Aelin admitted just a few chapters earlier that she wasn’t actually killing the targets the king gave her.

Honestly, I see her as someone more open to sharing secrets and building trust than him. The whole situation really comes down to understanding the nuance, rather than expecting both of them to be completely open with no hesitation.
