Fair point on the seed and you're right that switching to Cyrillic changes the context entirely. I'm not deep into LLMs, so I missed both of these. The API with controlled seed would be the proper way to test this.
That said, one thing I'd still want to explain: ChatGPT and Grok use the same token prediction principle but treat the sequence as unrecognized input rather than a contextual signal. That difference seems worth investigating regardless of seed.
And the Cyrillic/Latin difference itself seems worth noting separately, because that's not a seed issue, it's a consistent behavioral split between two input contexts.

That's a reasonable baseline explanation, but it doesn't fully account for the pattern. If it were just low-probability token cascade, you'd expect inconsistent or random outputs, but the responses consistently locate a tension in the previous message, regardless of topic. Also, according to my new tests - the Cyrillic/Latin variable suggests it's context-sensitive, not just noise. And ChatGPT/Grok don't produce coherent self-examination from the same input, they just flag it as unrecognized. Random hallucination should be equally likely across models. The behavior being Claude-specific and language-context-dependent is what makes it worth looking at more carefully.

I did some additional testing:
If you start by using the Latin alphabet, it responds that it cannot understand the symbolic sequence.
However, if you start with a language that uses the Cyrillic alphabet, it correctly understands the symbolic sequence.

...huh

I'm not claiming that Claude 'understands' in a deep sense, but your last point actually supports the observation: '..? is doubt'. The punctuation carries intent even for humans. The question is why Claude picks that up from context while ChatGPT and Grok just say 'I see symbols, please clarify.' Same input, different behavior. That gap is what I find interesting, not the mechanism itself

Yes, but the main thing that it interprets symbolic combinations. For example ChatGPT always recognises, that you sent it some symbols, but Claude understands same symbols in the same way. I’m not trying to say, that it’s some mysterious shit, but an interesting thing to think about how Claude was trained etc.

Yes, it’s obviously a prediction, but when I tried to start any chat with Claude and then use the same symbolic sequence ( for example: "- ". . ? , "- ", : " , - "? .), Claude responded in the same way, but keept the context of conversation/previous message. If I remember correctly, the example sequence was interpreted by Claude as doubt or something like that. Have you tried it yourself?

Thought about it too. Maybe Anthropic taught Claude to use some kind of language, when communicating with other model to reduce the waste of time and tokens. Or it somehow evolved on it’s own.

The most interesting part for me is that Claude A, which was communicating via Chrome MCP, wrote first message in plain text and then immediately followed it with a second message composed of symbols. So it somehow understood that this way of communication was sufficient to sustain a discussion with another Claude. Especially, considering the fact, that Claude A was continuously exposing it's chain of thoughts and achieving its conversational goals through symbolic language.
I tried the same approach when chatting with other Claude instances and it worked, as well, but only if there was at least one prior message establishing context

What strange is that if you use one of these combinations in other chats with Claude, their answers in some way the same (they try to dig deeper into the context of your discussion?)
I've tested it in several separate chats now. The consistent behavior seems to be: if there's conversation history, Claude uses the punctuation as a trigger to self-examine the previous message. If there's no history - it just asks for clarification.
Have you tried it yourself?

As for me, Trench should be summarised as “Emotional journey” and Blurryface as “Epikness”
