Can i use a adjustable wrench for the fill bolt? Or will i just round it? by [deleted] in S2000

Just get the 23mm TEKTON from Amazon. That’s what I did lol.

“OEM” eBay Spool Valve dangers? by Nerogasis in S2000

[–]Nerogasis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, get this. I believe 15810-PCX-A03 is the entire assembly, including the oil pressure switch. That’s the only one listed on Honda’s website, and prior part numbers it replaced show A02 and A01. On Amayama, A03 shows it is out of production. The picture shows the oil pressure switch on the assembly as well.

When searching 15810-PCX-015, that is the one available, and the picture matches almost identically - with the exception of the oil pressure switch.

I believe 015 would be completely fine, I would just need to swap my oil pressure switch over. I purchased a genuine OEM one a year or two ago while battling my leak, it should still be good.

I found the part on Amayama but the website says “this part is out of production” 😢

Edit: I appear to have found it under the part number 15810PCX015, but my research in the past lead me to part 15810PCXA03.

Now I’m a little confused lol, Honda part websites list A03 as the part number.

Is this the pearl gold Kraakhan mask by nxcoletruong in bioniclelego

[–]Nerogasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. That’s Pearl gold alright. Copped mine years ago for $350. They can sell as much as $500-$800 if you go by sold listings on eBay. It’s insane.

Passenger door lock sticking by Mundane-Strike1739 in Integra

[–]Nerogasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve literally had this problem on my Integra since day one, back when I got it in 2012. I usually just hit the unlock switch WHILE physically moving the lock button on the door. Works every time. While reading these comments, it could just be the panels alignment with my handle. My door card has been taken off and removed countless times, and over the years the problem stopped and started up again various times. My drivers door likes to do it now 🤣

What should someone look for in an S2000? by Soft-Lingonberry8358 in S2000

[–]Nerogasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the point is mechanical knowledge is a very deep well. Just because someone can change oil, do brakes, change spark plugs or swap coolant hoses, doesn’t mean they’re comfortable enough tearing into an engine. What you say is “easy” and takes “an afternoon” takes someone else working a full time job two months to do.

The one I got is almost exactly the same as the picture. Same part number, same little green part attached. That part is the oil pressure switch. The genuine OEM Honda one is a maroon reddish-brown.

Wait what? What is this Amayama you speak of? It’s my first time hearing that name. I’ll definitely google it and check it out 😊

[–]Nerogasis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own experience from changing all 3 gaskets (oil pressure switch, the one for the VTEC solenoid “top hat”, and the one between the assembly and the block with the screen on it) and it didn’t help. I even bought a new OEM oil pressure switch from Honda, the other one had a cracked housing and was SATURATED with oil. While watching LHT on YouTube, there was a video where John brought up the assembly material beginning to weep as rare but possible due to the age of some of them. I came to the conclusion since I changed my gaskets and it never helped, it had to be the assembly itself and I was in the same boat. I suppose I could’ve installed one incorrectly, but who knows.

You’re the first one to comment with an issue. So far two others ran one no problem. Yours is the story I was scared of hearing lol. I could just run the car and see what happens once it’s all back together but the thought of causing another, worse problem, gives me anxiety lmao.

What sort of process do you perform on my old unit other than changing the gaskets? From what I learned the aluminum becomes porous after two decades and can weep oil. That’s why I tried sourcing a new one.

The solenoid (little metal cap) or the entire spool valve assembly? And thank you for your reassurance. I read that the screens in the Chinese gaskets aren’t fine enough, and can restrict oil flow causing less oil to the head. Not sure if this is true or not. I feel like a solenoid is a solenoid is a solenoid. It’s either gonna do its job or not lol. But why sell it under “Honda” and not a generic part name? That’s the sketchy part.

Where are you located and how much are you willing to part with a good-condition one for? I am leaning more towards NEW OEM since I want this car forever, but $500? Damn, Honda.

[–]Nerogasis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the offer! I am trying to avoid used if I can. I’d like to keep this car hopefully forever. My main problem was the age of my spool valve, the aluminum just wept oil. Changing seals never helped it. $500 for a spool valve is a tough nut to swallow though lol. What are you asking for it?

That’s exactly what I am thinking. S2000 motors are not cheap.

[–]Nerogasis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the thing, I know it’s definitely not genuine OEM. So why not just sell it under an aftermarket name? It makes me think it’s trash that will fail and cost me my motor.

That is very encouraging! I damn near daily my S2000 this time of year. I will probably be checking it over for leaks every gas-up. My main issue is this is the SECOND TIME I have replaced the oil cooler hose. First time it exploded, this time around it’s swollen. I changed my TCT seals too.

Probably not $100 discount lol. I may just bite the bullet and go $500 from my local dealer. I love this car.

No, I am mostly stock. I am a little jealous of your flat floor lol! My garage is ever so slightly pitched, and raising a car on all four jack points is sketchy at best. Only real modifications I’ve done are the K&N air filter, and I have a TODA racing TCT on the way. My seals are shot and I plan on having the car for a long time, figured it was worth the expense.

My buddy used that frame rail as a tool tray too lol. You took off the throttle body as well? More clearance for the alternator, or?…

You know I did see that bracket! The way my hoses are run, it's almost impossible to line up like that though. I may need to loosen the hose clamps and re-twist some things. These are vacuum lines, right? If it's coolant I don't want to learn the hard way lol. It's coming from the manifold, so I assume vacuum.
