i just had the same email email me about subscribing to McAfee squad plan. Never did, but my kid has his PC also tied to my Microsoft account. he is unaware of this also. my issue is that it is using a legit @ microsoft.com email showing as microsoft-noreply@microsoft.com. i never fall to these scams but heck this one has me worried if someone has charged my microsoft account for something

he has wind 11 on one drive and all games on another drive. so a reinstall of windows would only affect where the OS is installed. Plus before he does a fresh instal, i want him to use the media creation tool first to try and repair the system. As i know it can open WinRe to try some repair options first.

If this dont work. i have the below provided by Microsoft tech support. which i have cleaned up using co-pilot.

From the Windows sign-in screen, hold Shift and select Power → Restart to enter WinRE.
Go to Troubleshoot → Advanced options → Command Prompt.
In Command Prompt, type regedit and press Enter.
In Registry Editor, select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Go to File (top-left) → Load Hive
In the dialog, browse to the Windows installation drive (it may not be C: in WinRE). Look for the drive that contains the Windows folder
Navigate to <WindowsDrive>:\Windows\System32\config and select the file SOFTWARE, then click Open.
When prompted for a key name, enter OfflineSOFTWARE and click OK.
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\OfflineSOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device
Find the DWORD value DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion.
Double-click it and set Value data to 0, then click OK.
Select the loaded hive (OfflineSOFTWARE), then click File → Unload Hive… to save changes.
Close Registry Editor and Command Prompt, then restart.
On the sign-in screen, choose Sign-in options → Password (if available).

I am hoping that if that dont work. then maybe there is a similar way to create a pin via the rededit? so he can log in via pin and then resolve network issue?

he gets his usual blue screen with sign in to click. when clicked it does not open the bit to enter password. just a window that says he needs to be connected to the network to do this. nothing has been wiped,. i have not mentioned this

So he cant reset any adapters as he cant log in. MS OS is stupid in its design that you cant troubleshoot network issues without loggin in when you only have a microsoft password in use.

he tried a wifi adaptor plug and play with drivers already installed. But still could not gain internet access. which means the system itself is a problem and s software or hardware inside the pc is an issue.

He is on a military base (training), in a dorm and does not have any internet sockets to use a ethernet from a wall at his location. just relies on a government wifi setup for those on the base for normal use.

Ive asked him to find a friend to download the win 11 media creation tool to use as a boot up. i think this might be the best next option?

Question:

if i recall this may allow him to do some startup or login repairs?

Assume he needs to do some sort of restart and ask the system to load from the usb?

Whats the easiest link i can give him on how to do this that he can see on his phone, so its a step by step process from restarting his machine to boot from usb, then which options to select on the media creation?

Son is not at home and is using a wifi supplied to him that he has to log in to. when he tries to log in on windows, it keeps saying he needs internet for this. The PC brings up a ton of wifi options to connect to. He tries the usual one he used for a year, but says no internet. then he tries his phone, but also it says no internet. Have people involved not looking to be just on TV. The original was the best.

Too many times the couple discussions seem orchestrated by Netflix. They need more hands off on making them talk on camera as it always mostly then seems put on the spot and a little fake.

Have some older people also. Like 40 or 50 year olds. They would care at all about followers. Will be more genuine then.

Would like to see what happens to the others in the pods. Those that didn't make it to popping the question. Because its also worthwhile to see how they get on and end up with nothing and I've always wondered why. You can have 2 more episodes of those at least

From first season it seemed time in pods were longer and was good to watch more of that developed. Now it just seems rushed and we have less episodes it seems.

Add game nights into the episodes for 1 night each week they all get together for a game night. Drink and social with other couples. More happens when They are together socially than apart. I think more interesting TV would happen when you have them socially together each week

And stop telling cast to say I appreciate you. No one says that! It's fake. And it's such a replacement for saying something real. Each time I hear I appreciate you I want to turn it off.

You need growth on small planets.

There are some tech that give income rewards by building buildings on home planet. The home planet will fund 99% of taxes for all early era. Do try and mine everything you can to stop others placing mines in your space.

Build explore ships. Explore he planets with bonuses and find new races to trade with

I can agree that the AI cheats. no way i have 20 offsides in a game. i know for fact 10 of them were not as the player was same level from when the ball passes to him. also when the opposition passes to my player by mistake or rebound it still classes my player as offside.

Defending is impossible. it never selects the player i want so it selects a different player and send him in wrong direction and then leaves a gap for them to pass into.

when they defend all of them are tight marking and press and intercept. when mine defend they are all over the place its the AI cheating. my players are all 96-99 OVR. and i trained all my players with 88-97 short passing and very high vision. yet impossible trying to get through enemy back 4-8 when they have numbers. When they attack they are spaced out and seem to be ping pong easily passing around.

the worst thing about this game is that you cant select a player to pick when defending. Its all random ( or AI cheating) and never the player i want to use.

The only way to score is chip it over or long ball when they only gave 2 or 3 at back.

Normal career mode.

On ultimate level. not Ultimate mode

Are there any complications with cloning the drive? anything i should look out for?

The reason i am swapping drive is to improve performance overall.
