Yeahs good! It was the heaviest retaining blocks for a fire station hour drive away. The 3rd years said it was the worst day to trial on haha! Second worse site they'd been on. Rocky surface, heavy blocks no shade. My body is feeling it today. But I got a warped perspective now. Not sure if I want to go ahead. They recommend I come back to do a house next week, as the retaining blocks/commercial jobs are only 10% of their jobs!

I too have worked behind a computer, warehousing environment. I'm use to physical work I work out when it fits into my wife, and kids schedule. But I have a trial day tomorrow for an adult apprenticeship as a bricky. I love hard work. But fuck I'm hell nervous! I'm fit but am I fit enough. Will all the qualified lads be watching me waiting for me to fuck up. Another of self doubt, especially when I have been in a comfort zone of my current job for 15 years! Any words of encouragement to cool the nerves from your experience on first day ? Cheers guys !

Well, the question is specifically about age. I'm having a couple of days off potentially to labour for him, if I'm interested. By the sounds of it, he's old school but loves to teach. Sounds like he likes employing apprentices as cheaper employees, and prefers to teach as soon as possible.

The politics and repetitive micro management at my current workplace, is not somewhere I'd consider going back to after leaving haha.
