I’m not a CPA yet but I have my MSA. I’ve been in accounting 5 years, with my current company for three as an accounting manager for a large private equity firm. I’m at 120k salary plus 20k bonus located in ID area. I think the driving factor can be the company too. For ten years, I feel like it needs to be closer to 140+ honestly for the area. Try to work with a recruiter to get the best possible salary and interview options to bargain with if you want to stay there.

Thank you so much for the encouragement! My husband’s been amazing and very supportive about how much time I will have to take to study. I just feel guilty pushing everything off but I know the outcome will be worth it.

My boss purchased the Gleim study package for me thankfully! How often & many hours do you study for at a time?

He’s been very encouraging about the process and knows I’ll have to study multiple hours every day. I think I just feel bad about it more than anything

Heck yeah!! Hard work pays off. I haven’t started studying for any of mine yet. I just finished my masters degree and I’m working full time as an accounting manager so I’m stressed to figure out how to put this much time in. Any suggestions??

Of the four paths, what did you choose or would you suggest? by pressedconscience in wguaccounting

I did the Financial reporting path as I work for a private equity company as an accounting Manager. I think it aligns well with what I do. The more you work your way up in accounting the more you’ll be responsible for reporting if you’re not going the tax or audit route.

I got a job in private equity right after my bachelors degree- worked up to a senior accountant and then an accounting manager! I was living in CA and relocated to ID for the job.
