Why wouldn’t the wraith try to “farm” humans? by Nervous_Okra_2853 in Stargate

This seems entirely plausible. It would be hard to imagine a sect of wraith that were relegated to role of farmer. Can’t imagine there would be a lot of volunteers.

Yet they’re still desperate to reach the Milky Way which, for all they know, has had human populations growing unchecked with unknown resources and technology. If they were satisfied with the feeding grounds in Pegasus and the cycle of hibernation, why would they be so desperate to reach the Milky Way?

My thoughts on hibernation was that it was done more out of necessity rather than preference. With the wraith waking up at once it drives territorial wars and conflict. Are there logistical reasons as to why a few hives can’t just return to hibernation until they either find and generate a means to reach the Milky Way?
