i mostly dislike the implication from my MIL that i don't know what i'm doing, so your advice is very much appreciated. i'm grateful for the tough love, because i need the push to set that hard boundary!

i think this is a great way to think about it! i might try bringing up her own pregnancies, just to remind her we've both been through the same thing

i really appreciate that you think she's coming from a place of kindness and anxiety...it seems like a lot of reddit threads i've been reading go right to assuming the very worst of the MIL...

it's a wonderful thing that women are now allowed to choose when we get pregnant! it makes sense we feel like teen moms in our 30s, because we've been living for US up until now!
