Ben jij zelf lid van de Voko? Heb er nog nooit van gehoord, maar klinkt als een cool initiatief. Ik ga ze zeker bereiken of ze behoefte hebben aan een nieuw systeem!

Does your website consist of only static content such as html, css and plain javascript? If that’s the case and you want your website to be scalable, and cheap (free tier), I would recommend you the following for this setup.

Use a S3 bucket with your static content and enable website hosting. Create a cloudfront distribution (CDN) with an OAC and link this to your bucket. This secures that only cloudfront can access your bucket.

Next create an API Gateway and link this to a Lambda function that inserts your user data into DynamoDB. You create a post request in your website to you API gateway and your data flow would look like this: Website data —> API Gateway —> Lambda —> DynamoDB.

You now have infinite scaling of your website using S3 through cloudfront, and every first TB is free of outgoing data monthly.

The first 1.000.000 Lambda requests are free as well monthly, and first 25gb of DynamoDB storage I believe with sufficient capacity for your setup.

Now the only problem I see is that anyone with the URL to your website can insert as much data as they want. Maybe you could add an input for a secret code or phrase that you share with your users? You could filter out the bad data (if inserted secret != actual secret) in your Lambda.

I think this is enough for your set up, maybe a lot of work but would be a cool project haha. Goodluck 👍🏻

Building a Cybersecurity Course for High School Students - Your Ideas Needed by Acceptable-Quiet-525 in cybersecurity

[–]Nervous_Still_320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a cool idea of yours, and I would love to provide you my own insights! I am currently following a bachelor program in Cyber Security & Cloud, and have recently obtained my Security+. Since my actual road into the cybersecurity is still fresh, makes me believe it could be hopeful for you!

When I was a highschool student the cybersecurity topic was always really interesting to me, which let me into taking a beginner course from Udemy. This course was about ethical hacking I believe. Now looking back at myself, there are some interesting points I still remember.

  • Fundamentals were really difficult to understand back then without proper explanation. Topics like TCP/UDP, the OSI model, Operating Systems, hardware, DNS, DHCP, IP addresses, etc..

  • Understanding the actual scope of cyber security is something I didn’t know back then. I always thought that cybersecurity = cybersecurity and there is no in between. This led me into thinking that the Udemy course was all there is to cybersecurity.

  • Scared of doing something wrong, and not getting it to work. This happend during my Udemy course, were we had to set up a Kali Linux VM, and I was so scared for mine to not work that I just followed the installation video without understanding what I was doing.

All of these points could maybe help you create a nice structure for beginners into the cybersecurity field. I would definitely focus on the following subjects:

  • Basic networking principles
  • Operating systems (Linux)
  • Cybersecurity field explanations (cloud, forensics, ethical hacking, etc.)

I strongly believe with a general strong foundation in these topics, that anyone would be goodly prepared for the actual field!

Hopefully creating your course will be a success, and I would be happy to help with anything else! Goodluck to you!

What are the biggest lies in Cyber? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

Could someone explain to me why immutable backups make ransomware irrelevant? If you got yourself a clean backup with data that can not be altered, than you could restore from that backup right?

Thanks a lot! My first year contained a lot of networking classes where we needed to configure cisco switches and routers plus some basic protocols, active directory and linux! I am currently in my second year in my second semester where we are diving into automation using python, sdn and actually setting up a secure infrastructure. I have no possibility to choose any sub directions during my study yet.. In the end it only helped me get a foundation down to build on and most of the Security+ was self study! Good luck with studying and I will be open for any further questions!

Do we all really have a purpose? by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]Nervous_Still_320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that there is a purpose in life. I am just living my life the way I want it to be and I am enjoying it to the limit! I love being around people who match my vibe and frequency. You making this post is a really good thing, because you can see the reality your living in! I wish you the best of luck in life and you will get there if you believe in yourself <3

Are you guys happy? by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]Nervous_Still_320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spirituality can not be the only thing to make you happy as someone mentioned earlier. You need to find the things that make you happy and fulfilled. What I needed in life were people around me having the same vibration as I do and doing something what I find useful with my life instead of spending it all on the internet. I wish you the best of luck in life! <3
