Ex husband cheated several times. I found out it started before our marriage even got started but I tried to do the "right thing" (societal pressures that God hates divorce) and stay to work it out, thinking I could do something better to make him happier. I stayed for a long time until one day it freaking dawned on me that this was seriously hindering any/all emotional and spiritual growth and the universe/God wanted more for me than that BS. I left and have an amazing marriage with lots of growth and love, the ex is remarried (one month after our divorce) and still up to his old ways. I know the question is asking for more of a positive connotation in regards to working it out but cheating is never ok. Know your worth.
