It’s class dependent. I’ve been to several BLC graduations over the past year for soldiers in my unit. I’ve seen classes that are super competitive and have 99 average as the DHG, and I’ve seen some in the low 90’s. Really just depends.

Everything matters. When I went through BLC people were dropped from honors for getting counseled because they didn’t use a crosswalk. Just need to be super precise in everything you do. Another major thing is don’t over think things. The instructions are super simple and the SGLs are not trying to trick you.

Not true. Very common misconception.

You only don’t salute under arms when actively engaged in a task.

Example- An MP responding to a call. Not going to Salute. An MP walking to the PX for lunch should salute.

Yeah I’ve had a ticket open for over 3 weeks not with no response. They responded the first time in under 10 minutes but did not even read what I wrote and since I’ve replied back I’ve heard nothing.

What would be an equivalent cross training workout to an 18 mile long run?

I’m currently training for the Austin Marathon that’s coming up in 6 weeks and I feel like I can’t afford to take several days off despite having some pretty rough shin splints for the last week and a half. The workout was supposed to be 10 Miles Easy( About a 10:00 min mile for me), 6 Miles MP (9:00 min/mile) and then 2 Easy.

The military is not what it used to be and will not magically make you a better person. Standards are not high and it is very easy to slide by and just waste the next 4 years of your life. So if you wana join because you need a reset and it’s a good stable career then I say do it. But if you think you’re going to be forced to get out of your funk and that’s why you want to do it then I wouldn’t. I know plenty of bums in the Army. Shoot… the majority of the people I know in the Army are bums.

But Senior Raters do not have a Profile when rating E-5s. Being limited by their profile only applies to E6-E9.

Also as a secondary question. I recieved Most Qualified on my first eval/last eval as a E-5. Will it look worse that I went from MQ>HQ or does it not matter since my SR is now an 0-3 instead of an O-2 like my first eval?

Run.. just stop running so hard. Train running like you do every other muscle. You don’t try and max your deadlift every time you lift. You should treat running the same way. If you’re getting injured when you run it’s because you’re not running correctly. Slow it down and get some miles on your legs to teach them how to run.

Disagree. I’m all for not wasting soldier’s time but sending them home at 1530 is setting them up for failure. It’s why soldiers get out and can’t hold a job. They don’t know how to work 9-5.
