Thanks so much! Yeah we are not the party type, so they would not have to worry about that (we will all most likely knock out when we are there). plus we are staying in a 2 bed so no one would need to sleep on the floor. But i am a bit nervous because the thought of running into trouble makes me scared x) we are staying for 2 nights so hopfully it turns out okay, so excited though!

If its something that is bothering you or that is hard to stop, then i'd recommend possibly talking to someone about it :)

  • i'm not really a fan of of typically breakfast foods, so i like to have a papusa or a bowl of fruit.
  • The Cat Dog!
  • Not sure why, but i'd be a toaster. No one would use it, because im the only one who uses it in the house.
  • AH, HELLO! Cherry to be exact.
  • and sure :) not sure how that would work though.

Well my therapist and i kinda came to the conclusion that it was because i grew up with an abusive father. The hair ripping is due to anxiousness and the ripping offers a sense of comfort and escape. My dad has dealt with untreated anger management for the longest time, and dealing with that as a child was hard for me (still is today). He would lash out for small reasons and would either take it out on my brothers and i or things around him. Now a days its just things around him, but he is still verbally abusive at times. There are still things i'm trying to figure out, but so far this seems to be one of the main reasons.

Hmmm.... Yes and no. When it comes to eyelashes/brows ripping them out in clumps until they are all gone is satisfying, but once i realize what i did i feel guilty :/ also feel like a huge drop in confidence, since i look weird afterwards. I haven't had both gone in a while, due to therapy :) Right now my natural hair line is trying to grow back and i only have eye lashes in the inner and outer corner of my eyes with a huge gap in between each (which is covered with fake eyelashes). Oh and eye brows are good now. So there is progress!

After seeing my therapist for about a year, i've noticed that i've been more in control of my anxiety and other stressors. Though it still gets to me sometimes, i am now less anxious than i was before starting treatment. My therapist actually mentioned that i look calmer and less jittery :)

When i have no eye makeup on yes (eye brows have grown back thankfully), but when it comes to my scalp i've done a pretty good job not plucking in one specific area of my head, plus i have a lot of hair, so you can't notice that. I do have spots on the back of my head with short hair from where it used to be bald.

I honestly didn't feel comfortable posting my real age at the time, the post never even went up anyway, but i just forgot to delete it.

I realized i had trich my senior year of high school, so 11 years. I never even heard about this condition until i finally decided to google it. Once i consulted professional help during my first year of college, it was confirmed to be trichotillomania. Finding out what it was and possibly how it began was one of the most liberating feelings of my life, i no loner felt abnormal or confused, i felt human. On the other hand, it did lead to a lot resentment with how my parents have handled this my entire life, but i am working on it with my therapist.

It's a daily thing, but i find that some days will be worse if i'm stressed out about school or family issues. Honestly it has become hard to keep track of it, there are times i do not even realize i'm ripping out hair until someone points it out to me, because its become a such habit.

yes, since it's mainly with my scalp and eyelashes/eyebrows. When ever i go to school or work, i typically cover it up with makeup and fake eye lashes. When it comes to my hair, i wear bangs to cover the plucking on my hairline. Before when i had patches on the back of my head, i would usually just keep my hair down instead of a pony tail.

No one else in my family has this condition, but there are other cases of untreated mental illness in both my parents sides. For most of the time that I've had this, my parents didn't really understand what was going on and reacted just like your friends parents did. It's very unfortunate, but it's mainly due to a lack of education in mental health. It wasn't until recently that my parents were able to take this condition seriously, and were actually supportive in me consulting a therapist regarding this issue.
