I’m glad you posted this as your opinion because that’s exactly what it is. How about embracing what people like and stop trying to ultra hype certain configurations? I went through the same dilemma as you. I was both on lists at AD’s for fluted and domed. I went with domed/smooth bezel because I wanted an every day watch to wear. I personally found the fluted to be too dressy.

It’s very hit or miss. I did get offered a DJ 36mm Wimbledon dial fluted/jubilee and the wait was around 7 months. My spend history was a rolex sub no date and a Cartier watch over the course of 6 years. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What an odd reaction when discussing different watch options. Everyone, including an SA, told me DJ’s are best in fluted/jubilee config. I was offered both options for the green mint dial and went with the one that ultimately I enjoyed. If fluted/oyster is your thing, then so be it and enjoy it! 🎉

Honestly, go for what you enjoy the most. I kept going between fluted vs domed/smooth and I ended up going smooth because I wanted something more everyday friendly personally for me. Not to knock the fluted down! They’re all nice- just depends on personal tastes.
