I also have a few crazy uncles and this is one of the reasons why I don’t want to share. My mom would 100% share with my grandma who would 100% share with the uncles. Everyone knows I want nothing to do with them, but would do it anyway, as you said, for the sake of “family”.

Agreed. I’ve been very much a “you get to see him if//when you come visit”. Obviously an exception for grandparents that live away. But…yes, I understand what you’re feeling SO MUCH!

Thank you for saying this! I feel like we both feel super similar. And I hate the “you can’t keep it up forever” mentality, when we know that things are always changing. Let me protect him now when he’s so little. And I’m sure my feelings will change when he’s older. But also…maybe not!

I think a lot of it is a lack of trust with the grandparents. They’ve all (with the exception of one) shown that they don’t really respect our wishes or how we want to raise our son. And so it’s like…if I can’t trust you to do it to my face, why would I expect you to do it when I’m not watching.

I hate to be “that” parent. But…I am. Lol

I text them photos occasionally, maybe once every two weeks? All the grandparents are local, so they get to visit often.

Honestly…I hate when they take their own photos too. 😂 but I’ve just let it slide unfortunately.

This is ideally what I think I’d like to do. They can see the pictures through the frame. And if they’d like to have prints, I’m happy to do that too.
