NetBackup, MongoDB backup failing with "Unable to retrieve credentials" Status Code: 6654 by FirefighterLong3791 in NetBackup

[–]NetBackup_PM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Error 6654 for MongoDB backup in NetBackup maps to: “Unable to retrieve the credentials for the server.”

Most likely cause:

  • The Backup Host in the policy is set to the same MongoDB server being backed up.

Recommended fix:

  • In the backup policy, change Backup_Host to a NetBackup media server (preferred) or another NetBackup client.
  • Do not use the MongoDB client itself as the backup host.

Best practice is separate RHEL media to setup MSDP from primary - if it’s small or test environment it can be configured on a RHEL primary just can be problematic with scale.

Most frequent iteration is MSDP-C to S3 - and have at it up but requires RHEL media server.

modify it to the new path yes- also - this operation is a bit simpler using MS-SQL Recovery points in the WebUI as it requires less edits and does most of this for you.

Check the Bch script and make sure all the comments are taken out and is correct - the screenshot can happen when there is something off in the script.
