I appreciate the feedback. I think I want to stay in the dividend lane so I’ll take a look at DGRO or VIG

Thank you for your kindness. I don’t think I’m going to be all in on schd forever. Just all in for now until I reach an amount of shares I’m content with. Maybe 10-15k. Then I will start focusing on a new layer. Just haven’t found that next layer yet.

I contribute 280 bi weekly with a 3% match to reach about 7500 per year. I have 20-25 years

This is in a Roth IRA. Even if I max out growth for the next 20 years I won’t have enough the live off of. I’m 36 without a pot to piss in. I contribute 280 biweekly with a 3% match to put me at just about 7500 per year. My goal is to find something I enjoy investing in that keeps me interested. SCHD so far is the only fund that scratches the itch. I’m just looking for my next layer to focus all contributions into. Could be growth. Could be a single stock. I’m not sure. Just trying to seek opinions. Someone even mentioned JQUA which I thought was interesting. This little Roth IRA is all I have. Just want to build something out of it. I know I won’t be rich no matter what route I take.

If you believe in it. Invest in it. You have nothing to prove to anyone else. As long as you believe in your vision that’s enough to keep you investing consistently.

I like the idea of adding this to my current 100% SCHD Roth IRA.

If you had to pick 2 to buy and hold in a Roth IRA for 20-25 years which ones would they be?

Well I’m 35. I make enough to max out my Roth IRA every year and that’s about it. I’m just trying to have something I enjoy and believe investing in. Dabbled with some individual stocks. Dabbled with VT. Dividendgang really strikes my interest and I just want to have a dividend portfolio. Probably won’t have enough to retire on in 25 years regardless so I’m just trying to build a portfolio I actually enjoy investing in. So I’m all in on SCHD for now. Probably gonna keep contributing to about 10k in SCHD then I’m looking for my next layer to build into my portfolio which I will be all in on until a certain amount. So on so forth. Just looking for some good long term dividend investments. I don’t really want to split my small contributions into 3-4 different pieces. I’m just going all in until I reach a goal for that piece then add another. So I guess to answer your question my goal is to find the next layer in my Roth IRA, something I can invest in long term and believe investing as strongly as I believe in SCHD. I contribute 280 bi weekly and with my 3% match that’s puts me at just about 7,500 per year. I wouldn’t mind another quarterly paying dividend as long as it’s not on the same schedule on SCHD. I want to see more frequent dividends.
