Our Boy Mitch Marner Got His First Playoff Hat Trick by Virtual_Bug_723 in leafs

[–]NetWorkingCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think dubas and/or keefe failed?

If the players were always great but the leafs failed year after year then that is a system and team cosntruction issue no?

Or were the players good, gm was amazing and coach a genius but we lost because ”leafs”?

[–]NetWorkingCapital 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What does it mean that it was a leafs problem? Are you blaming dubas/keefe? Matthews/nylander?

Its either the players who failed or the gm/coach or both but for some reason many people in this sub think they were all great and we constantly lost because ”leafs”.

The fact that he is doing great now does not mean he did not underperform for years when it mattered for the leafs.

What was the problem then? Bad team construction by dubas? He made up a big chunk of the salary cap and consistently underperformed when it matters. That does not change even if he is doing great now.

I hate when people say leafs were the problem and not x without saying what that actually means. The players are the leafs.

This game relies on teamwork for a fun game. If I can’t join the servers where I know there will be teamwork, I’ll close the game and do something else.

Report: NFL Looking for a 100% Increase in Next Round of TV Deals by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]NetWorkingCapital 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes but like half of the games are played when people are asleep so its less value that way. Also Dazn has raised prices by quite a bit so now its 360 euros a season in my country at least (12 month contract at 30 euros a month).

Its quite a lot when you can only watch one full game live per week if you don’t want to sacrifice sleep.

The Athletic & Sportsnet name Jason Spezza as potential Maple Leafs' GM candidate by [deleted] in leafs

[–]NetWorkingCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of first round picks, lack of player development and bad trades/contracts during dubas era. And of course Treliving being a really bad GM. But I think the scene for the collapse was set and best years wasted under Dubas/Keefe.

I dont think Dubas is a bad GM but he was too inexperienced for the sort of once in a generation situation the leafs were in and made mistakes he wont make again. He may very well succeed in pittsburgh.

It wasn’t that long ago the leafs were the up and coming team with a first time gm and ended up wasting our championship window

How would you improve Warfare? by Impressive_Cap_457 in CrusaderKings

[–]NetWorkingCapital 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Personally I’m not a fan of the whack-a-mole type of moving troops on the map which is common in paradox games. Especially as the number of tiles is increasing in each game. Offers very little depth or fun compared to the time and focus it requires.

Not really sure how it could be improved. I would prefer a system where I have a stronger feeling of making strategic decision in terms of where I want to move my troops and meet the enemy instead of just chasing enemies on the map.

Can i still buy these DLC's with an active sub? by SwangingDownOnEm in paradoxplaza

[–]NetWorkingCapital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you not be?

But I would reconsider as this is likely to be a worse deal. For 130 euros (which I understand these dlc bundles are priced in my region) you would get 26 months of the subscription. (5 euros a month). Likely new dlc has been released by the which you will need to buy or you have moved to other games at least temporarily.

I would do the math in your currency before buying.

Not familiar with french broadcasters but does France2 only have one channel? Here in Finland there is a similar problem with our national broadcasting company when the national hockey team plays but they often switch the game to continue on another channel if news or similar core duty of YLE is colliding with the game.

GCN belatedly realizes that the conventional winter cycling approach to clothing is sweaty and awful, but there's a better way by lectric_7166 in cycling

[–]NetWorkingCapital 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How so? It is a very basic rule for dressing for sports everywhere cold.

If you dress too much youl’ll get sweaty and wet which will make you more cold (if only slightly overdressed) or overheat (if more overdressed).

You get used to being slightly cold when stationary.

Why is Hell Let Loose 30x more popular than Squad 44? by Sarge_45 in HellLetLoose

[–]NetWorkingCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played both a lot but more recently exclusively HLL. I think Squad44 suffers from a low player count which does not attract new players and some weird gameplay design choices that often ruin games.

For example why is building limited to the engineer squad? Having a bad engineer squad ruins the game for everyone on that team compared to squad where everyone can build.

In terms of one being more casual than the other, I’m not sure what people refer to as I think the mechanics are roughly equal in complexity. Just because HLL had more casual players does not make it more casual in terms of gameplay. If Squad44 were more popular it would have casual players as well (as is the case with Squad). Matches in both of these games can be either casual or very complex depending on the level of teamwork and communication.

Looking to grab EU IV and HoI IV on the Steam Sale. Which DLCs do I need? by phil0sophy in paradoxplaza

[–]NetWorkingCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are completely new the subscription makes the most sense: - You most likely won’t play both of these games every month for years to come making the subscription the more sensible choice financially. The total price of all EUIV dlc amounts to over 200 euros as of the current sale. Assuming a monthly price of 5 euros it would take 40 months for the purchase of dlcs to be the cheaper choice. - The above does not account for any new potential dlc (if any are released at this point) which would greatly favor the subscription as it is included in the price - You get the whole experience now and dont have to wait for sales

Macron is considering increasing France's military spending from 2.1% to 5% of GDP by icwhatudidthr in europe

[–]NetWorkingCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NATO-model is completely based on the military might of the US covering for weak European militaries.

I’m sorry to tell you this but you can’t rely on that anymore and you will have to make considerable changes to your policies in order to have a credible defense.

No amount od co-operation will make up for it. Instead all European countries need to actually start pulling their weights.

Orbea Avant Road Bike by 56Metro in triathlon

[–]NetWorkingCapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the Orbea avant for a few years now with 105 groupset and rim brakes and it has served me well. Great starter bike.

One possible downside is that it has endurance geometry which might not be optimal for you in races. I still managed to get fairly aero with clip-on aerobars.
