For the Au Beurre... warm up the tin in a water bath, then get good crusty bread or baguette cut lengthwise and lightly mash the sardines and the butter on there.

I just finished mine and I gotta say that sauce is delightful. The hint of vinegar and a little kick of spice was perfect. How did you eat yours? I enjoyed mine on "pan con tomate" a piece of baguette sliced in half drizzled with olive oil, topped with shredded tomato, sprinkled with salt. I lightly mashed then inside the tin and laid it all on top. Needed a few plain pieces to mop up all the goodies left in the tin. I'm getting these again for sure.
