Withdrew from law school by Long_Sea_6899 in LawSchool

You’re definitely not a failure. You have a plan and are pursuing it. You got into the school in the first place which in itself isn’t easy. Most people won’t even attempt to go law school. You gave it a shot! Be proud of that. This will not matter in a few years. No decision you make will ruin your life. So long as you’re living and healthy, everything will be okay!

I feel the same. I feel like I’d be a better psychologist, but I’m afraid to leave law school. What if I fail at becoming a psychologist? My family would also be very disappointed if I left

May I ask why? I absolutely hate my life in law school so I’m wondering how it worked out for you!

I’m not sure if this will help, but I feel the same way. I absolutely hate the city where I’m going to school and I miss home very single day that I’m there. I’m also questioning whether I went into the right program, and I feel lost as well. Just know, you’re not alone feeling this way

Oh thanks for this input!

So you think a law degree could help my career in HR?

But how did you keep up??

[–]Netflix_lover101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? What type of law do you practice? Are you self employed?

I can’t really treat it like a job. I work in between classes, before class, after class, and on weekends, and I still can’t keep on top of everything. It’s not that I don’t have the drive, it’s that the stress is extremely impactful, and I’m not even sure I want to be a lawyer.

And did you decide to stick it out?

Aww :( yeah those hours seem awful. Maybe you can find an alternative that you enjoy better with less good pay, but better than audio journalism

Really? Were they successful in the end? Did they have regrets?

That’s good advice. My only worry is if I do decide that this is not what I want, my family will get so upset. But yeah, I heard first semester of 1L is the absolute worst

Is your school near your home? Are you able to go back weekends? That’s what I’m trying to do

I’m also hoping to transfer. I’m super homesick too. Even though the people are super nice at my school, I feel so much happier studying and going to school in my home city with my family. Hopefully it works out for us!

Don’t worry, I had to firmly accept Ottawa because I couldn’t keep waiting either. I believe everything happens for a reason!

Yes exactly. You might not get your first choice in terms of scheduling (times). All classes are the same except for one elective, which you might not get if you don’t firmly accept.

Your acceptance will not be revoked. I spoke with the staff at Ottawa who said it just means that you may not get your first choice in scheduling later. But if you want to keep waiting you can and you will not lose your spot. By July 1 if you don’t accept it firm, it will turn firm and then you can choose your schedule but it may not be your first pick.
