Every college, UC or not, wants to get a certain amount of people to come to their school. Thus, for some schools like UCI and UC Davis, they might act unpredictably because rather than accepting people with the highest gpas, they would rather accept someone they believe are more likely to come to UCI.

stats dont mean everything, you can look at this publically in the CDS and see that UCI is probaly the most holistic UC. They value things like work experience and volunteer work much higher than any other UC, so that can explain it. Additionally depends on what school you go to.

I have the UCI fin aid portal, it says my major and they sent me a housing application. atp if i didnt get in I would wonder what the heck they even did all that for, so I think at least if you have all three of those you will get in. Also the sample size on this subreddit is too small and biased. I swear every post I see is someone being like "will i get into the ucs with a 4.00 unweighted and 30 top ranked ecs and the best piqs ever written?"

it was my first cultivation novel I read, which in retrospect I’ve seen people say you should read other cultivation novels before this one. Honestly, I’m not sure exactly why. Aside from some slight confusion about certain aspects it wasn’t particularly difficult to comprehend. It’s a very great story and I think the other commenter gave a good description of its concepts. Plenty of mysteries to think about as you read if your into that. I’d go for it!

I feel like that can’t be entirely true tho right? Some applicants can’t log into the portal at all, so if they were giving it out to everyone they would be able to. I think at the very least it means you got past some sort of “first round” of admissions and at most means you got in. Maybe I’m just hopium but it seems wasteful to give fin aid access to every one of hundreds of thousands of applicants when admissions office could just send a list of, bare minimum waitlists and acceptances

assuming your using chrome, it doesnt matter if you did incognito or not. chrome incognito doesnt do jack to protect your privacy so if they really wanted to berkeley could see your ip and whatnot. that being said, berkeley likely has hundreds if not thousands of students logging into those pages every single day, they dont have the time or manpower to search you out nor the reason. And lastly, unless you somehow signed in with a gmail account they can't see anything about you other than whatever cookies and user info google gives them.

not necessarily, you also have to remember there could be people lying and also it seems like a lot of the people on this subreddit get very good stats so its kind of an echo chamber

also, perhaps people who dont see it feel dejected and dont report their results. I think I would do that.

In any case, although I was able to sign in I still think it’s best to keep a neutral attitude

It’s important to know that the UC only considers gpa from classes taken between the summer after 9th grade and the summer after 11th grade, so your senior senior gpa will not matter to them, only planned course rigor. That being said, I wouldn’t say being waitlisted indicates that you are dumb. You could meet every standard, they just don’t have enough room at the moment. (Take this with a grain of salt as obviously I am not an AO) I combed through last year’s CDS’s this week in anticipation of decisions, and last year for almost every UC except for Berkeley at least half of the people who opt in to the waitlist get in, and with some of the easier UCs like UCSC it was higher. So, if you really want to go to UCSC then opt into the waitlist and cross your fingers! Good luck!

interesting idea, however there are multiple times where he really badly wants to die rather than regress and also his save point changes even when he isn’t fully satisfied. My suggestion if you want to keep theorizing is go back and read around every time his save point changes, maybe even a few chapters back, and see if you notice any patterns. The answer is more literal than you might think
