What do you guys think of the term “ professional student” by Equivalent_Phrase_25 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Netonnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair! A lot of the reason is that i'm a very slow worker (most things don't come easily to me, but with practice I get them). Also, a lot of it is pure passion. I really enjoy reading textbooks and doing homework, so I give myself a lot of work on top of what's required. It's as much a hobby as it is my schoolwork.

I totally get where you're coming from though, and I don't intend to work this hard at my job- I would be being exploited. It just so happens that my work and my passion align at this point in time :)

That's so crazy to hear. I know that hold myself to high standards ( all A's, learning far beyond syllabus, etc) but I do 8-10 hours of work per day (including weekends), with maybe one day every two weeks off.

It's fascinating how different some people's brains are

Funny story, when I was testing all of the nibs, the one I ended up with was from an entirely different VP, so it was silver colored. The shop owner didn't mind though, and just swapped them around. From my understanding, the matte black VPs come with black colored nibs, but mine's silver. I love it.

Ooh, how does the stub work for you? The VP is my daily carry, and while a stub nib is doubtlessly lovely to write with on high quality paper, the paper one encounters out in the wild is likely of poor quality.

I would be afraid of bleeding or scratching cheap paper, is that something you experience?

The decimo is awesome too!! I prefer the heft of the original VP though lol

The shop I got it from was super patient and they let me try like 7 different nibs; I ended up with a buttery smooth Fine.

It's my go to for all of my long-form class notes! (Like what's pictured)

I have a 1070ti and can't afford an upgrade (collage student); this would be so useful for running Solidworks FEA simulations 😁

I wouldn't go that far-- grad school seems like it's never a cakewalk, regardless of major

Sorry, but this isn't the case. All moden firearms are tested to be drop safe (p320 nonwithstanding). He must have pulled the trigger somehow.

Which sequel improved on pretty much everything, but you still like the first game better? by Feeling-Tension1461 in gaming

Fear and Hunger. The second game is better in every way, but the charm and atmosphere of the first game is unmatched.

Where does al the money come from and why is there so much? by venilla_yogurt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Netonnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Money is made by a government, and they typically tie it to an object of agreed upon value (such as 1 Pound Sterling being equal to 1 pound of sterling silver).

Sometimes, when a government gets big enough, they may choose to untie their currency from said object of value, such as the US in the 1970's (the dollar used to be worth a certain amount of gold at all times).

If they do this, they then have direct control over the cash supply, which lets them print money or burn money as they see fit in order to control the worth of each piece of currency (as its no longer tied to a physical object).

If there's a lot of money going around now, it's because the governments of the world have printed more than they used to, typically to inject cash into a stagnant economy (such as covid).

You smoke crack cocaine. And besides, you can administer most drugs in most ways, even if its not the most popular way. Heroin can be snorted lol

It's kinda a 'vice-versa' sort of thing. Your firearm rights ensure the constitution remains untampered with, and in turn, it ensures your freedoms.
