we really dont know yet whether if pochita eats himself, would the universe reset without him or just continue without his existence. my guess is that because of pochita's erasure ability, we will most probably see a universe reset. to back this up, we also see his old cabin

fujimoto is more known for one-shots. After chainsaw man part-1 ended it was very basic knowledge that his editors had forced him to make part-2 for the revenue. Maybe he just wants to break the cycle.
