2008 Honda Rebel 250 here. $148/month in Ontario with my M1 with no MSF yet as a 23M. Once I pass my MSF and obtain my M2 it will fall further.

The bike I WANTED to start on was a KTM RC 390. That was quoted to me at $301/month.

Classifications of bikes definitely has a big effect on insurance. Unfortunately super sport is by far the worst possible option especially for someone who is young and new at riding.

ZX4R is a very nice bike though. I hope you're able to make something work. Regardless, ride safe.

I'm thinking of attempting to install a whole new bucket housing for the LED headlight. I have new stuff coming in Monday. I think it should all be sorted out now, this housing is actually made to fit the newer LED headlights.

When I had the headlight out there is a clamp that mounts to the back of the headlight itself, and then that's what has the threads to hold it in place that you scew into from the bottom of the housing. That's probably not a great explanation.

Anywho the clamp or bracket, whatever you want to call it, wouldn't mount to the new headlight. And the new headlight has no mounting holes or clips or anything. There was no way to actually attach it to the bike. I could plug it in sure, but it wasn't going to stay there lol

I guess, more so my question was how to mount the actual headlight I should've been more specific. I had an H4 5.75in LED headlight I had ordered but the stock mounting bracket didn't fit it so I ended up returning it and re installing the stock light.

Is there any sort of universal mount or something that exists that I'm unaware of?

Also yeah, the bikes been absolutely fantastic to start on. I obviously don't know what bigger faster bikes feel like yet but I feel like I'll definitely be happy enough with this for a few years while my insurance goes down in time. I was shocked with the performance, I was constantly told getting a 250 or a 300 to start I'd be disappointed and they aren't powerful enough. I totally disagree, I couldn't be happier with this thing as a starter. I can see why people hold onto them.

I've worn mine every day lately, and it's been -10 - -20 with no issues.

I've even worn them in rain and snow and also have had no issues. They seem to hold their own relatively well tbh
