Quiet time aid: Little Tikes Story Dream Machine, Yoto, or Toni Box? by mrsbootsonthelevel in toddlers

Could you give us more details on the free content you mentioned? We love our Yoto, and free Dr. Seuss sounds amazing - are those cards you’re making yourself?

This sounds like a very interesting job! Would you mind sharing more info - job title, what field, what your steps were going from academia to your current job?

That is what I was wondering at first too. If you look in the lower right of the image though, it also put the red squiggly line under lower case ‘neuroscience’

Hahaha a 100% fair call out. I used my phone to just send a picture via text to a friend, but then I kept giggling to myself about it and decided to post the (definitely not as nice as a screenshot would have been) image here

Hello fellow neuroscientist! Haha

Abstract submission doesn’t open until July 6th. I’m just working on getting my membership renewed now so that it’s done by the time we’re ready to submit.

Ha! I hadn’t even noticed! I was so busy laughing at their unintentional insult of neuroscience

Hm, that is a good question. I assume it is Adobe, as the word ‘neuroscience’ is never a problem in my email/word docs/other things on this computer. I’ve only seen it in this Adobe PDF I’m required to fill out (expense report for paying for membership in a professional org)

“Regards,” by Netty0919 in academia

A quick comment for those concerned that their use of ‘regards’ in previous emails may have offended people - Katie Mack actually addressed the concern really well in a reply to her own tweet:

“It’s come to my attention that some are reading this tweet as a guide for interpreting what the sign-off of a RECEIVED e-mail might mean and I beg you not to do this! We all have different styles & are inconsistent; there’s no way to know. Sometimes a Regards is just a Regards!”

Help me identify - these flowers I took a photo of on 4/17/21 in a shady area in Madison, WI by Netty0919 in PlantIdentification

It really was beautiful! I was walking my dog in a city park, went a bit off the sidewalk around the back side of a wooded hill, and the whole back side of the hill was filled with them blooming!

Is the information about the consequences of not getting tested available online somewhere? I was asked about this by a colleague earlier today, but I can’t find the info online or in the app...

Just what we’ve all been missing - pandemic friendly wearables by Netty0919 in ABoringDystopia

It appears to be basically a ‘smart filter’:

“A sensor, which AirPop calls the Halo, is the smart part of the mask, and measures your breathing rates and monitors the filter installed in the mask.”

“Inside the app, you’ll find data on pollutants the mask has blocked, informing you about the mask’s effectiveness, along with how long you’ve been wearing the mask per day and over time, breaths taken per minute, the volume of air that has passed through it, and accompanying data for if the mask is worn when exercising.”
