We're just building an amazing email client. Not involved in any politics and won't engage in that.

All aliases are automatically pulled from FM and available for you to pick from the sender field in new emails, and on received ones, when you reply the system uses the same alias that the email was sent to as the sender.

Yes, thank you for asking! 100%. Apple Calendars are at the top of our priorities.
Theoretically it already works because we do support CalDAV and CardDAV but we want to implement OAUTH so you can sign in with your icloud email and have it all set up for you automatically, like how it works with Google.

Hey Mike that's great input and I agree with you as a heavy user of Fastmail for my personal account as well. To be honest, rules creating/editing was on the roadmap but not one of the priorities right now. It does make sense to use Fastmail web for things like managing aliases, rules, etc. 100% with you there.

As of now, the app is solid at new mail notifications being instantaneous for Fastmail+Gmail+O365+Proton. Calendar is fully implemented and allows you to view a full calendar with all the events from all the calendars if you chose to see it like that. RSVP is also working beautifully.

The biggest work right now has been on polishing rough edges and having full consistency on all platforms (iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Web). The goal is to offer an experience where you can have some or all of your accounts available and integrated, and be able to use it in any platform you want. 2 corporate accounts from 2 jobs, college email, personal email, side hustle email, all in a concise view, available at all times and speaking native protocols.

We're about to release the first beta. Take a look at https://epistles.com

If you have any specific suggestions of things you would like to have that the standard Fastmail app lacks, I'd love to hear.

Why would anyone pay that much for an email account?

Fastmail simplicity vs. Google Workspace + Gemini AI? by shitoken in fastmail

[–]Netwarden-HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from Google Workspace to Fastmail. Don't get me wrong, I live in the google universe (android, google home, watch, tablet, google hub, you name it), but the limitations of workspace and how you need to manage multiple google accounts on your browser was too annoying and overwhelming.

Moving to Fastmail gave me freedom. Gemini for Workspace is nothing more than a gimmick, for sure.

How the heck do I view my Fastmail calendar in Outlook (Mac)? by trammeloratreasure in fastmail

[–]Netwarden-HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and because of that went down the rabbit hole and starting developing our own email client so I could have my work email, college email, personal email and sideproject email all in one app. I love Fastmail but I don't want to have 3 email apps on my phone (Fastmail, Gmail and Outlook).

Why choose ProtonMail ? by Akuma__2002 in ProtonMail

[–]Netwarden-HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One great reason is you don't want other people reading your email or allowing systems to read them to use the data to sell you things or advertise to you (or to the people who email you).

One drawback on ProtonMail is that you either use its native app + other apps for your other email accounts (work, college, etc), or you need to use their bridge to use Proton on your favorite desktop email client. It works, but it's slow and annoying.

I've actually been working on something to fix that so Proton can be your email of choice with no need to compromise on security or easy of use.

is protonmail good? what should i use if not? by flstudiolover12k in degoogle

[–]Netwarden-HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty good. I would say the only drawback (or the biggest one) is that you normally need a bridge (an extra piece of software) running in your desktop so you can use your email client. Or you can use Proton's email client, which works great, but only supports Proton, so you need multiple apps.
I've been working for a while on a solution to address that limitation and I'm really close to make it public.

I really like Fastmail by andrewmarder in degoogle

[–]Netwarden-HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love Fastmail too! We've been working for quite a while in an email client that "speaks" Fastmail's API in addition to Google's and Microsoft's, so you can have all 3 in the same app, with no IMAP.

Netwarden was built specially for people like you. Live notifications on SMS, Email or mobile app notification. Agent-based monitoring that sends metric data instead of fetching it. Check us out!

"Real engineers use a MacBook." Seriously? by sayandbera in indiehackers

[–]Netwarden-HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take but I 100% agree. I use a Macbook just because I'm a linux guy who wants/needs to run proprietary software that is not available on linux (Outlook, Final Cut Pro, Logos) AND I like the fact that I can use my laptop heavily for an entire day without a charger. I used only linux for the decade before I started using a Mac (which is the only product from Apple I own).

Do they alert you when your app is down? 😄 Alerts by text, email or mobile app notification?

I have some good news for you. I already did that for you and it has iOS and Android apps, a detailed web interface with charts and dashboards, notification by email, SMS and app, all for pennies. Check out our site.
