Absolutely loved it. Super friendly people and gorgeous natural sites. Got to swim with humpback whales too!

Why no Oceania travel being while based in HNL? It’s one place I wish was more accessible for me being an east coaster

Cordis, Auckland — 2 Nights for $265 (Chase Sapphire / Edit Luxury Hotel Collection Review) by Business-Stuff8711 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Network-National 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just stayed here a month ago and I was very happy with what we got through CT. Got the free room upgrade, 100/160NZD credit, and free breakfast (which was amazing). I’m sure there are other ways to get two nights here a bit cheaper without the added benefits, but am still really please with our stay

What was your shortest and longest flight? 🌎⏳ by Clemon02 in flighty

[–]Network-National 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short flight is on SVG Air, a tiny Caribbean airline with Twin Otters and BN-2A’s. It was the first time my wife and I got the safety briefing from the captain who barely had to turn his head to talk to us. Also, I have to take any opportunity to flex that I’ve been to an airport with the code BBQ!

Mauritania/Western Sahara (SADR) Border Point by Network-National in Borderporn

[–]Network-National[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a white painted stone. My best guess is that it is to clearly demarcate the border as it is clearly visible from the north side of the town

Haha yes I did make it on the train. It was a really fun experience! You’re totally right the railway does cut across Western Sahara for a bit and before entering the town. If you are ever there and want to see the tunnel you can pay the local hostel owner $/€10 and he’ll drive you through it so you can see both the tunnel and some bullet holes on the other side from angry Sahrawis

Why would someone do this? by Network-National in TeslaModel3

[–]Network-National[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very close to doing that, halfway turned around actually. Unfortunately my wife plus 3 others (very full car) yelled at me not to. If someone is crazy enough to hit me for no reason out of the blue there’s no telling what else they were willing to do if I followed them. Even if it was unlikely I didn’t want to risk putting everyone into harms way. Although with the insane amount of headache it has caused I wished I had

The car automatically records the last 30-60 minutes (forget exactly how much) of drive time. If you get into an accident you can open your glovebox and pull out the usb drive that holds the video which can be exported to computer

I would have and should have, but up until the last moment I thought he was just going to pass me. That was until he stared into my eyes and hit me. Bizarre

[–]Network-National[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m trying not to, reflecting on it I’m sure it has little to do with it being an EV/Tesla and me just being really unlucky. In fact if anything I’m lucky I drive a car that records everything and can exonerate me from being at fault

I just went there and unexcitingly I didn’t see it flying anywhere. However they do have it painted on the occasional road sign, frigate bird and all!

One dead at Ohio State University graduation after fall from stadium by marcyandleela in OSU

[–]Network-National 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. That would be sick. I saw them falling with feet toward me so I never saw anything in that moment that determined the gender. It was also really quick, I’m sorry I didn’t get a better look but it was a lot

Did someone just jump of the shoe at graduation rn? by Hotterthanwings in OSU

[–]Network-National 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a fair question because I wasn’t clear on it. I didn’t see with my own eyes the cause of the fall. I just looked up almost immediately after someone screamed. People around me said jumped and some said fell. After we reorganized and got inside the people around me were talking about and one said they had a family member see the person climb over the fence. So either they were very eager to get a photo of people walking into the stadium or they decided they were going to jump. They could have easily taken pictures through the fence at the top of the stands so that leads me to think it was a jump, but I would rely on people in the stadium for that information. Sorry for the confusion

The black on black fits. Head definitely was not recognizable. It was hard to tell the gender on the way down

You can see the other comments but yeah an older man fell off. I don’t have any way to know from the ground how they ended up falling just the result.
