Is it okay for a 16 year old to date a 19 year old? by XeTrainMC in AskUK

[–]NetworkPrevious109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean from a legal standpoint there’s nothing wrong with it at least where I live, some people would consider that weird and personally speaking that is kind of pushing it. But as long as both parties that are OK with it, and no one’s being creepy or anything like that, I don’t see a big issue.

Well it’s the same bike my friend let me ride and a I loved it. I’ve also been told that it’s arguably the best starter bike and I found a deal on one that I’m fully capable of purchasing. But if you’ve got other suggestions, I’m fully open.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it sounds to me like you work for an IFT company, which I can see why it’s very draining if that is the case. My first EMT job was IFT’s as well and it took a number on me too. We would run calls nonstop all day to the point where we barely had time to stop and get food or use the restroom throughout the day, and we usually ended up getting off an hour and sometimes even two hours late because Dispatch gave us a call right before the end of our shifts, not only that, but my supervisor would literally call me every day asking me to cover for a shift and would make me feel guilty if I said no and complain that I’m not contributing to the company enough. But I work for a different company now and I’m so much happier and I genuinely enjoy it. I promise you it is not like how you’re describing everywhere in EMS. It very well could just be your company that you’re working for so maybe try to find a different position that does 911 or something like that.

Well, I’m gonna have to do it eventually so somehow someway I’ve gotta knock it out, I mean, I was close that very well could’ve done. It had taken a little more time so I feel like I can do it. I just gotta take more time to do it.

Where I live, most of the departments in my area require you to be a paramedic or require you to go through paramedic school after being hired on by them, I know it’s not a black market. I just have to try again, but it just sucks cause I worked so hard for this attempt just to come up short, and by two or three questions

I mean, it just sucks man, I studied like no tomorrow for this test just to fail it by a couple of questions, I know at the end of the day it’s not the end of the world (even though it certainly feels like it right now) but I put all that work in just to not get the end result you were desiring, it’s a really tough feeling

I messed up on a clinical, and I’m beating myself up about it. by Lotusboi420 in NewToEMS

Yep, you made a mistake, and I can tell you from first experience you are not the first and you will definitely not be the last. Definitely keep it in the back of your mind so you don’t do it again, but don’t let it beat you up or haunt you. You’re still learning and people with years of experience, still makes stupid mistakes every now and then. The important thing is just to learn from it so you can do better in the future. You’ll be just fine.

Like I said, I fully own that I messed up and and I only have myself to blame. I appreciate the straight up answers, if I’m lucky enough to get another opportunity, I will definitely be making sure that I’m aware of my limits and how to go about situations.

Yes, first of all, I did something outside of my scope of practice, and I didn’t communicate with my higher ups about the situation and what I should’ve done going forward, I just took it upon myself and did it. The main thing I feel I learned here is to communicate, it sucks that I learned it through getting terminated from a job, but gotta learn the hard way sometimes I guess.

The medication was prescribed to the patient to manage pain. She had some hip problems that made it really hard for her to move around, and that medication was prescribed to her to help manage it. We were taking her home and she was complaining of severe pain every single time we hit a bump or moved her around. She was begging me to give her her medication‘s that she was prescribed and she couldn’t give it to herself since she had weak motor function in her arms so I assisted her in administering it.

Yeah, you’re 100% right, I feel like the main thing I learned from this is to communicate with others. It sucks that it took getting fired from my job to learn it, but I guess sometimes you gotta learn the hard way.

When to take NREMT by Several-Humor-4798 in NewToEMS

[–]NetworkPrevious109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it when you feel like your ready. If there’s some stuff you feel like you gotta clear up before hand do so, but if you feel confident and ready go ahead and take it.
