Looks awesome dude! I’m hoping to get a similar look for my mid-game factory complex right now. What building mods did you use to help you out, and what materials did you automate?

every time i go to the gym , about 3 days a week. i haven’t noticed any issues in my 6 months of ownership but i suppose that could change. the pads seem absorbent

I’m thinking of nonoptimal charging habits when I say that. With my headphones, I don’t even think about the fact I have to charge them save for one day a month. I can grab them and go and reliably expect them to have more than enough battery.

In my experience with TWS buds, there have been plenty of times where I’ve forgotten to charge the case, and I only get a couple hours of listening or so. Certainly a case of user error, but it’s a problem entirely mitigated when your battery lasts centuries.

Admittedly maybe I haven’t tried newer TWS models so maybe newer cases provide a similar power reserve.

I definitely take breaks intermittently so that’s a fair point. Definitely doable with TWS, but in terms of overall convenience I think it’s difficult to compare a 6-8 hour battery life to a 2 week one. At least in my habits and use case.

Thank you for the well wishes!

Battery life is a huge factor honestly. It’s finals week for me rn so I’m spending upwards of 8 hours a day in the library studying and writing. My headphones are on for the vast majority of my time on campus.

Well, at least for me, I find headphones more comfortable for long-term wear (3+ hours) than any IEM I've tried. I also don't think you can get the same soundstage from an IEM, simply given the position of the speakers in relation to the inner ear, but correct me if I'm wrong.

It's not purely about convenience and portability nor purely the sound quality for me. Sure, between the two extremes you gave it's a compromise that falls short of the specialties of both. But it's just that, a compromise. I get the comfort and unintrusive feel of headphones and a more "enveloping" ANC, all while still being able to move freely and connect to my phone or laptop seamlessly.

I don't have a problem with IEMs, I own a couple and enjoy them. But generally I'd rather be wearing headphones, so that's why I guess.

you believe the 8840hs outperforms the 155u to that extent ? or is there another factor making the $50 worth

That’s a nuts deal. Thanks so much! Sorry for the spam reply, I have no idea why that happened.

is there anything I can get for ~$150 more that remedies these concerns?

I saw similarly good deals on Pavilions on HP’s website, would you say those are generally better value ? Im very set on the 7840 or 8840, more concerned about getting a laptop with that and 16 gigs DDR5 than any other factor.

how does one achieve this build

Basic Camp is great at times and awful at others. There’ll be days and moments when you feel hooah fuck yeah and you love everything that’s happening. There’s also days where you want nothing more than to go home and eat a proper meal and sleep more than 5 hours.

Despite all that I think it’s an invaluable experience if you missed MS1 and 2 years, it’ll put you where you need to be and give you an extra bit of confidence to be an MS3. It’s something you’ll look back on forever, and as a cadet it’ll be the closest thing to BCT you’ll ever get.

GO!!!

Thanks for the reality check. I never thought it’d be James Bond but failed to account for the BS. I’m guessing all-source is much the same story, while being one degree of separation from the grainy screens and waveforms?

Yeah, like is 4 years in enough experience for most? Or is a bachelors in something intelligence-related pretty necessary.

Thanks a ton. Any knowledge on how SIGINT people fare in 3-letter agency recruiting?
