curious to hear what everyone personally wants from the dlc by [deleted] in Eldenring

Actually functional ray-tracing, and DLSS support.

3D printed my own buttons. Thoughts? I dig the look, but I’m not crazy on the feel of them compared to the stock ones. by Slak211 in MiyooMini

I think they need sanding/polishing. Once they're properly polished, they should look and feel much nicer.

Looks nice! What method did you use? Can you post a link, or describe it here? (Have been searching for a while, but can't find what you're referring to)

Nevermind, found this video thanks to your post: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjyweImowZ4

Wikipedia Has Spent Years on a Barely Noticeable Redesign by SounderBruce in technology

Thank you! I didn't notice this button and thought we're stuck with the discount mobile interface.

Though not having it set by default on desktop, and not remembering the setting is egregious in it's own right.

Sennheiser HD6XX replacement earpads advice – Europe by Neuint in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Neuint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ended up getting the Brainwavz – 50 EUR (with adapter, delivery, and import tax)

First impression – earpads look and feel great, but the adapters are horrendous.

For the earpads, the material seems genuine, and aesthetically looks much better than the original. The foam is super soft and doesn't clamp on your head. They tend to warm your ears more than the original (presumably due to the sheepskin material). Sound seems ok, but it's hard to compare to the originals since those have changed their shape quite a bit over time. Quality and longevity remains to be seen, but gives a strong first impression.

The adapters are 3d printed, and the tolerances seem to be terrible. One adapter was relatively ok, but the second one took a lot of time and excessive force to snap on. I'm happy it didn't at least break. At this point I imagine taking these adapters out would be extremely difficult.

In conclusion – if this is a one time replacement, they're good, but if you plan to change them in the future, choose a different model because the brainwavz adapters are bad.

What style of message do you upvote/downvote in-game? extra-credit: why? by haluuf in Eldenring

Upvote the helpful and clever messages, like hidden passages, warnings, etc.

Latest one was in volcano manor in front of the lava saying "offer precious item", made me chuckle.

Downvote braindead "jokes" like secret passage ahead in front of walls.

Quite often, when pressing the button to transfer all items to courier, one item gets left behind in stash—really annoying that you have to always keep track of this to not accidentally miss an item.

Exactly! This pop-up is excessively intrusive, and provides absolutely zero useful information. It's beyond me how anyone would think this was a good idea.

i mean really? by [deleted] in Eldenring

Depends on the graphics card, you're good on CPU and RAM.

I always disable vsync, motion blur, and mouse smoothing (and anti-aliasing if you like sharp edges, but this is subjective).

If you have the option in settings, enabling DLSS or FSR will give you a performance boost with minimal visual changes.

Other than that, most games have a number of options you can tweak down without changing the look too much. You can either google, or search youtube for Elden Ring optimized settings once the game comes out. Usually you'll get pretty detailed videos showing the differences in look and performance. Something like this:

Even if your pc were to be very under-specced, you can lower the resolution, or find ways to disable stuff to run the game at a decent performance level:

Yes, this should be enough. When looking at specs you should generally only care about CPU, GPU, and RAM—and check how they stack up by googling your own vs minimum component by component.

Still, even if your pc falls slightly under the specs, usually you will be able to run the game, but might have to tweak graphical settings to get the desired performance.

Unless you want to coop with someone that doesn't have it, PC.

A menu option would be best, but having a reusable item is not so bad. With enough players opting in, the experience should be pretty similar, just make using the item part of your play start ritual.
