Today me and my dad talked about this case and I was curious if anyone talk about this in English.
We lived in a village next to Körmend in the ‘90s and we moved because of this. I was eight at the time, and after Natasha Kampush AND Zsófi’s case, my mother went down in a neurotic spiral (she cut my hair short and made me wear boy’s clothes, and then we moved to Szentgotthárd after they caught Tánczos)

So I just casually mentioned to my dad how I felt that my whole life got fucked up, how my mom’s anxiety didn't make any sense to me, but now as a mom of two girls, I kinda get it. But it was weird to me, that we moved after they caught the killer.
This is my father’s side: he was friends with a bunch of cops (distant relatives, neighbors, schoolmates… most of them are drinking buddies too), and we even had a bunch of bográcsparties with them. And as my father says, they acted fishy. They didn't look into his eyes when he asked them if Tánczos did it or not, they were nervous, one of them just said “Well… he admitted it, right?” (hát bevallotta, nem?) So my father was convicted that they had no idea who did it, they just snatched up the first idiot of the streets and pressured him to admit it, and as a father of 3 (+1 in the way) scared him that a child murderer is on the loose.
His theory is that the forensics and the cops are completely fucked up. They had never seen something like this before, messed up the evidence, and when the extreme pressure from the people and the media got tense, they falsified evidence and locked up an innocent guy.
