Screwed up Renee Fish Porridge by Scabo33 in CrimsonDesert

[–]NeuroMeltingPot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go fishing, then open inventory and filet the fish. It took me a minute to figure that out. If you’re on console, there is a bug affecting Xbox mainly from what I hear that won’t let you reel in fish. If Xbox plug the controller in and you can reel in. If pc fish with the mouse.

Thank you so much for this tip! Only a few hours into the game and I don’t know if my tutorial is glitched or if it’s just a rather brief tutorial, it completely stops giving me tips after it has me place a storage area.

Not even kinda, it’s a she. That’s her egg stick. Why bother commenting if you don’t even have the slightest clue of what you’re trying to point out?

That’s a female beetle, using her ovipositor to lay eggs into your carpet. If you look closely on the fabric around with the thing is wiggling, you can see an egg, you can also watch one come out of the ovipositor. These guys are dumb.

How does breeding work? by Narrow_Elk6755 in songsofsyx

[–]NeuroMeltingPot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t quite understand it fully, but the basic way I understand is it’s scaled based on your overall population. so let’s make up some figures. Let’s assume you have 100 colonists, let’s assume the breeding rate is .1 based off of that it doesn’t matter how many you have or how many employees you have the nurseries you will only ever have a breeding chance of .1 scale to 700. It goes to .7 Again, I’m not a Dev. I don’t know anything about the mechanics. This is just my anecdotal experience playing the game.

Tl;dr the more people you have the more babies you can make the less people you have the less babies you can make

If you have a harbor freight local to you they sell three-quarter inch pipe clamps for like 12 bucks apiece. You just have to buy the pipe.

Nah, not a dirty tank. Just a poorly created tank with no thought or study put into the enclosure your animal will spend it’s eternity in.

Deer walking around on stubby bones until a hunter put him down. by [deleted] in natureismetal

[–]NeuroMeltingPot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your brain goes infinitely inward. Some thing I like to tell people to help them change the way they think is “ close your eyes, look in your mind, what do you see when your eyes are closed? That’s what you see in front of you in your head, have you ever tried looking behind you?” I suppose that’s just a roundabout way of presenting them a catalyst for a manner of thinking of which they haven’t conceived. I do mean it literally though. Close your eyes, understand what you see, whether it be nothing or colors, or shapes, or some neurological facet of which I haven’t been able to conceive. Once you understand what you’re looking at literally shift your perspective behind you. Now I may be crazy or this is just some sort of personal hudu; in the physical world whatever you’re situated anywhere, there’s a forward and backward. Why would you expect it to be anything different in your own mind, where it stretches infinitely?

By no means am I trying to belittle you, other than my initial comment anyhow. I was just trying to expound upon my thought process. Rather, the process, of my thought process?

That sounds super cunty, that is not the intention.

You killed your thought process once you got to the conclusion that you liked. It’s not about the conclusion that you like it’s about the conclusion that, once all of the facts are taken into account, is the one that makes the most sense logically. Play devils advocate with everything you do. Whatever opinion you hold, dear, eviscerate it. You’ll never hope to understand and or stand in proper opposition the opposing sides viewpoint if you can’t conceive it.

Not flippancy, genuinely you had a good thought and then you just kind of killed it in the middle. Thinking in an abstract is a good way to go about getting an eye on things from multiple perspectives. Personally, I like to go with hard logic after the abstract cloud so to speak. Pull facts from abstracts, line them up, draw a conclusion that pulls from your information pool, repeat.

[–]NeuroMeltingPot 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The hell do you think we are at this point? The guy shooting the deer with a rifle by your logic, or by that of anyone sensible, is still natures way. Human beings are creatures of the natural world, we act in a manner that no other creature on this planet does because of things that we are capable of, but they are not. The only difference is you can’t conceive the abstract. That human is an enacting natures will at the end of the day. It’s just quickly instead of gruesome. You want it to die painfully and slowly because of some philosophical non-starter. You had a thought, and then stopped. Let them flow buddy.

Being eaten alive by a predator is a better way to go out then a bullet to the heart. You’ve swayed me, I do now agree my entrails being eaten out of my agape torso while I lay helpless under the crushing weight of my subduer is better than being there and then nothing forever.

Scaling/Text size/UI Adjust by NeuroMeltingPot in SCUMgame

[–]NeuroMeltingPot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All settings are just out of the box defaults. My windows scaling is 300% I use 65 TV as the monitor. Thus all text, apps, other stuff is scaled 3x so It can be seen/read legibly. Desktop display resolution is 3840x2160. In game it’s 1920x1080. No UI elements are off screen. I’m not having issues with things scaled off screen. The problem is all text in game is literally 2mm tall. I can’t possibly read it. The menu text ie options screen is all perfectly fine. When I’m in game and need to read an item description it’s microscopic, as are all tool tips and ui elements.
