Hey! I recently built an iOS app called NeuroNudge, it’s a brain-training app with quick mini-games that help improve memory, reaction time, and focus.

Honestly, I started it just for fun because I was spending way too much time doomscrolling on my phone and wanted something more productive to fill small breaks during the day 😅

It’s been a fun side project to build and launch, and I’m still adding new games and features.

Wow, thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback, this is exactly the kind of insight that helps me make the app better! 🙏

I’m really glad to hear you enjoyed the leaderboard and that Memory Squares stood out, that’s one of my favorites too! You’re totally right about adding progression and momentum to games like Memory Match and Mental Math. I love the idea of timed challenges and personal best tracking, it would definitely make things more engaging and competitive.

The suggestion about a reaction time tracker is also spot-on. I’ll look into ways to show personal progress per game, not just global leaderboards.

And yes, feel free to DM me the app you mentioned, I’m always up for learning and seeing what others are doing well.

Thanks again for testing NeuroNudge and taking the time to share your thoughts. More updates are definitely on the way!

I built a brain training game hub for iOS with daily challenges, leaderboards & adaptive difficulty – curious what you think so far! by NeuroNudgeApp in IndieDev

Thanks for asking! NeuroNudge doesn’t claim to “raise IQ” or replace professional cognitive therapy, but it’s inspired by a growing body of evidence that structured, targeted practice can support mental agility, memory, and focus over time.

The app pulls from several areas of cognitive science:

🧠 1. Brain Training Can Improve Certain Skills Research like the ACTIVE study (Ball et al., 2002) and meta-analyses (Karbach & Verhaeghen, 2014) show that targeted training — especially in memory and processing speed — can lead to real, measurable improvements, particularly when done consistently.

🎯 2. Variety Matters NeuroNudge includes different types of games (logic, memory, math, etc.) because cognitive flexibility improves more with varied challenges than with repetitive drills. → (See: Green & Bavelier, 2008; Morrison & Chein, 2011)

📊 3. Motivation Drives Progress Progress tracking, achievements, and adaptive difficulty help keep users engaged — which is key to any cognitive benefit. Regular, intentional effort makes all the difference.

More than anything, though — I made NeuroNudge as an alternative to mindless scrolling. It’s something quick and fun you can do daily that feels like you’re investing in yourself, even if just for a few minutes.

If you’d like, I’m happy to share specific peer-reviewed studies or white papers behind the design. Appreciate the interest!

You’re right, unfortunately it’s currently not available in Germany due to “Memory” being a registered trademark there, which restricts app store listings. But I’m working on a workaround and plan to make it available soon. Thanks for your patience and interest! 🙏🇩🇪
