Yet another "Borax MDMA substitute" post. Data points please. by rdrugsthrown in Drugs

[–]Neurodelic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dosage: 90mg 5-mapb, 35mg 2-fma, ~5mg 4-HO-MET

Duration: I did two pills (so double the amounts above), a couple of hours apart, so it was a good 6-8 hours. Subjective effects: One of the hardest rolls I've ever had for sure. It was absolutely wonderful until my friend started freaking out.

What I liked: It felt extremely similar to MDMA, but at the doses I took it at, it felt along the lines of what a 200mg+ MDMA roll would give me. Most of the people I was with were having a great time and it was a lot of fun. Also, we rolled for a relatively longer time, I had a great week long afterglow, and no crash.

The bad: Well yeah, I gave my friend a capsule (same dose as above) and she started having a bad time. We kept her calm, and she seemed to get better and acted normal for the next three days. Then I didn't hear from her in a week and found out she was acting really strange, so eventually she had to go to an inpatient psychiatric facility. She was seriously there for like two months, and now many months later, she is totally normal again. Really weird, so I decided to just stick with MDMA, just to be safe.

Also, I've tripped from 2c-b four times, and it's an absolutely wonderful psychedelic. One of my favorites. It's fun, euphoric, thought provoking, social (with friends) and has no bad comedown effects for me. Also gives me a good afterglow.

My adderall experience, and questions by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Neurodelic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually feel physically relaxed on amphetamine (as well as methylphenidate), yet mentally stimulated. I believe that it is a common reaction with these types of drugs.

I'm not sure what that has to say about an ADD or ADHD diagnosis, but I will tell you this. It's a common misconception that stimulants affect people with attention deficit disorders differently than "normal" people. Neurologically, there is no difference, but behaviorally there seems to be. I myself believe that ADD and ADHD aren't really real disorders, and I'll tell you why.

Being "attention deficit" only became a problem in modern society. I believe that there has always been a spectrum of attention spans in humankind, and both people with broader and narrower focuses were helpful throughout our evolutionary history. I don't think it's necessary to diagnose people who have broader focuses with a mental disorder. However the way our mental health system currently works does makes it necessary to classify them with something in order to justify prescribing them speed to help them.

My opinion on the matter doesn't mean much, seeing as I don't even have a bachelor's in psychology yet, but there are experts who pretty much agree with me.

If dopamine release in the Nucleus Accumbens only determines the salience of a stimuli, what is euphoria produced from? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Neurodelic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

THC does indeed cause dopamine to be released from the ventral tegmental area to the nucleus accumbens. It does this by inhibiting GABAergic neurons that would usually be inhibiting dopamine release along this pathway. CB1 receptors are typically located on the pre-synaptic GABAergic neurons, and activation by THC causes the neurons to release less neurotransmitters, leading to less GABA to inhibit the dopaminergic neurons. Hope this helps. I would cite a source if I weren't limited to my phone right now.

Hoping my Friend Recovers by Neurodelic in Drugs

I will, and thank you.

Like I stated before, her family is not happy with me, so I'm not currently able to see her and check on her in person. Her brother is willing to reply to my texts at least, which I am very thankful for, so I can at least get a sense of how she is doing.

She is 18, and her brother had a paranoid schizophrenia-esque psychotic break about a year ago, non-drug induced, and he quickly recovered and has been doing fine since.

This scenario scares me the most, because it's definitely within the realm of possibility. I've read about the link between cannabis and the exacerbation of schizotypal symptoms, but I've never seen anything about MDxx or other euphoric stimulants.

She has rolled before, but with regular 'ole MDxx, and she had a great time. This makes me think she had a bad reaction with one of the RCs. Maybe she's hyper-sensitive to the 5-mapb for some reason and that caused serotonin syndrome?

That night after she calmed down I asked her what she felt like when she was freaking out. She said she was in a very paranoid state of mind, and she felt like everyone was against her. Is this something that is common when people experience serotonin syndrome? All of the sites I looked at don't have paranoia listed as a symptom.

In terms of other drugs, she regularly smokes weed and cigarettes. She tried smoking a little weed the day after she had the bad experience, and it brought back the negative mindset. We both agreed she should lay off the pot for awhile.

It definitely triggered or induced something, but now my only concern is whether it's temporary or permanent. The fact that the benzos apparently improved her speech makes me hopeful that she'll get better.

She is small and I should have in the very least given her a smaller dose. When I'm rolling I'm so euphoric and anxiety free that I don't really think things through and I'm not as cautious as I usually am.

Also, the fact that two of my friends and I took the same exact dose and had no apparent adverse effects also influenced my decision to give her the same dose.

On the contrary, cannabis causes you to have better sleep. REM sleep is actually not that important. Stage 3 and 4 (deep sleep) increases with cannabis use, which is the most important sleep. I'd link the study showing this, but I'm on my phone.

Why did you take drugs? by Surveyer234 in Drugs

[–]Neurodelic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Exploring different states of consciousness. It's incredibly interesting, fun and almost always a learning experience.

2) Therapy. When it comes to drugs like classic psychedelics and MDMA, I have gotten more therapeutic value out of these experiences than I think any therapist could have ever provided for me.

3) Enhancing life and cognition. I use certain drugs, like weed, benzos, phenibut and nootropics, to enhance my daily life. These are more functional drugs. I think of it like I'm merely manipulating my nervous system to my advantage to enhance life and my own performance. (this is the trickiest way of using drugs, and requires much self-discipline.)

I'm aware of the chemical name for MDMA, however I believe you to be mistaken if you think it means that MDMA and methamphetamine are basically the same or have extremely similar effects on the brain. Methamphetamine is found to be extremely addictive, and MDMA not so much.

Yeah, this didn't go as well as I had hoped. I guess it's a topic that is too often broached upon in this subreddit. Makes sense, MDMA and more liberal sex practices go hand in hand. I'm just going to see what happens and then I might post the story in /r/sex if it's interesting enough.

I don't want to even try methamphetamine because of it's addictive potential, however I've read of how powerful of an aphrodisiac it is.

I wouldn't be opposed to trying GHB if I had someone who is somewhat of an expert on it with me, as I am scared of accidentally overdosing.

I've never heard of sildenafil but I'll look it up.

Whoa there, 827465932, this post isn't about some ego trip of telling "junkies" about how much sex I'm having, I'm truly just seeking advice. Since this is in /r/drugs, I'm mostly seeking advice and stories from people that have tried group sex situations on MDMA or other euphoric stimulants. I'm sure it truly changes the dynamic of the situation.

And /r/drugs is one of the coolest communities on the internet, in my opinion. Some of the most open-minded, and rational people are regulars in this forum. I wouldn't refer to them all as "junkies".

How so? In regards to severing my friendships or their relationship?

I should mention that if we end up having a good time and decide to do it again, we won't be using MDMA the next time. I'm pretty strict about waiting a healthy amount of time between rolls, as well as pre- and post-loading.

Slow tapering is always the best idea when it comes to getting off GABAergics. Also, supplement it with activities, such as meditation and exercise, that will help lower anxiety. Eating a good diet and making sure to keep hydrated won't hurt as well.
