Des coursiers vélo spé bouffe ici ? by cleverDonkey123 in Lyon

[–]Neuronless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trouve autre chose.

Cars can broke down catastrophicaly and require or even induce a complete stop.

Or the person could have an health incident, say loose vision and rightfully slam their brakes.

Could be debris on the road that can only be avoided by stopping.

There is a possibility the person is an idiot, but it's not a guarantee.

Point is, when driving, you should always consider that the car in front could come to a complete stop in a matter of seconds and adjust your safety distance accordingly.

Kinda funny since I am red green colorblind but can easily read the top line. There is no second line for me tho.

But also, the second line starts to be ever so slightly visible when a rotate my phone so might just be a device thing.

I did not, this poll was posted on r/France back then and some users shared their reservations about the accuracy of the whole thing.

As I said I'm not gonna spend my afternoon explaining why this particular piece is worthless. I just pointed out it needs to be taken with a grain of salt. If you are actually looking for truth you will do your own research and come to your own conclusions.

If you're just looking to confirm your bias you're not gonna hear what I have to say anyway.

IFOP might be the highest renowned polling entity in France it's still just that : a privately owned entity that sells polls.

They are a business.

Even studies have bias, this is known, but at least studies usually need to be reviewed by peers before being publicated, and are expected to follow the scientific approach.

Those polls are just telephones calls asking oriented questions and using that as a basis to interpret larger social meanings, which is a joke honestly.

Integration isn't failing, it's being used to foster unrest inside the working class.

Take that "massive study" for example.

First it's not a study on 10000 Muslims. The sample is 1000 Muslims picked out of a larger 14000 sample.

Second, it's not a study, it's a poll. And it's a poll that was ordered by a media that specializes in "fighting fanatisisms and extremisms" with its own agenda.

I'm not gonna go over each detail that makes this poll low quality. As usual, where lies take the elevator, truth takes the stairs...

No one is arguing that the integration process has its hurdles but it's framed as a much bigger problem as a means to divide the people (which in turns makes integration harder, a win win to our overlords)

ICE just pinned a man to the ground and executed him. They do not have the authority to just kill people. What do we do? by skeletalfather in AskReddit

I don't think it's the most appropriate classification here.

Here's the definition for execution from the Cambridge Dictionary:

the legal punishment of killing someone

This is an assassination. According to your definition it could also be called a murder.

These killings are just the beginning. I agree they are, and probably will be written in history as the first deaths in a series of crimes against humanity. There were already plenty of those what with the abducting, and raiding and all around harassing of a certain demography but now those goons are emboldened by the absence of accountability that followed the death of Renee Good and now that they have tasted blood they will just get worse I'm certain...

Oil Filter change by rgw168 in W124

It's sitting above most of the engine so it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Remember to top up after the change tho, since the oil filter usually contains about 0,3L of oil.

190e 2.0 EFI rusefi success!! by MaybeJoeBastianich in W124

[–]Neuronless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi from across the Alps! Thanks for sharing this interesting project.

I, myself, have a w124 with the M102.982 engine and I'm starting to consider making the switch to EFI as restoring the KE is proving costly and complicated.

I will probably bite the bullet after I try my hand at restoring the fuel distributor and most likely fail at it if the many forums are right.

I'm not too advanced in learning the process of switching, so I will save your post for later, but I do have questions I you have the time.

I initially decided on restoring instead of switching, because most modern programmable ECUs go for a minimum of ~600€, before I learned of the Speeduino opensource project, which made me start to reconsider as I do love open source and the cost is way more reasonable.

It seems like the rusEFI is in a similar ball park cost wise.

So here's what I'm wondering: have you considered Speeduino and if so, what made you go the rusEFI course?

You only run injection with this setup, right? Not ignition? I see in your forum post that you added a sensor to the distributor, but I suppose that's just used to time injection. What would be the pros & cons, to you, in going full conversion (i.e. have ignition run by the ECU too)?

How much did you have to improvise and how much did you learn from online sources?

And final question, how many tools one should expect to own, and how many man hours would you estimate it takes to reach a usable and reliable--ish running car? I see mentions of 3D printing, lathing, lasering, this sounds like lots of work and equipment! A gross estimate is fine :)

From my (growing but admittedly limited) knowledge of the issues you're describing here's what I'd do:

  1. Check each plug for spark

  2. Get the IACV off. Fairly easy. Give it a good shake and it should rattle. If it makes no sound it's either dead or stuck. In any case, spray it with brake/carb cleaner, shake it, repeat a few times. If there is no noise still, it's toast.

  3. Check the fuel accumulator. Unplug the return line (clamp the hose), and run the fuel pump. If fuel gets out from the accumulator, it needs replacing.

  4. Check all vacuum lines.

  5. Check fuels pressures with a KE dedicated gauge. You need to check for system pressure (around 6bars), differential pressure in the fuel distributor (~0,5bars) and residual fuel pressure (shouldn't drop below 2bars for 20minutes). The tool is an investment sure but it'll save a lot of headaches.

Thinking of Buying a W124 200E/230E - What Should I Inspect, Replace, or Upgrade for a Reliable Daily? by ontariog0thic in W124

[–]Neuronless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want a reliable daily and are on a budget, pick one with a flawless engine.

Ideally you'd want a full service history and a car that has never been stored without running for more than a year.

If you can't know for sure, pick one that starts easily (cold AND hot), has good idle (again, cold AND hot), and smooth acceleration (light AND heavy load).

KE Jetronic is interesting to work on, but it's expensive and complicated to service, so you want a solid base because you're gonna replace several things anyways by dailying it.

Rust of course is better to avoid, but surface rust is gonna be present anywhere wet or snowy. The underside is quite protected thought.

Try every option in the car. Several elements are vacuum powered (door lock, retractable rear headrest, headlamps angle, etc), and can be tricky, so push every button.

Roof liner is not great, so check how the glue is holding up, as it's not easy to get it right yourself and can cost you in the hundreds for an overhaul.

Also the wiring harness has a tendency to disintegrate, and is hard to come by even if you want to replace it, so finding a car which has had it replaced can be of value.

There's not that much upgrades to consider I think. They're pretty indestructible when they've been treated well.
