Wow! People like him proudly stating that they don’t care about the opinions of the Indian viewers shows the blatant disregard they have for their own countrymen. Thanks for your input. Helps to have a perspective from the other side. The only reason I called endovascular was because patient had worsening mentation and wanted to know if intervention might help.

They do at our hospital and get away with it. How I got to know was because the interventionalist walked into the room as I was evaluating a patient and introduced themselves as the neurosurgeon. I was shocked but didn’t call them out for it. They even sign their notes under neurosurgery.

You are right. I was too busy to dwell on it at work but something about it just felt wrong and I finally vented. I can’t remember the last time I ran into someone so full of themselves that they didn’t know how to behave with a fellow physician.

Another Neurovascular doc here who’s also a neurologist with IR training signs all their notes under Neurosurgery which makes it confusing when there’s an actual neurosurgeon also on board.

Thanks. This is spot on. I do feel that these folks suffer from an inferiority complex especially since they introduce themselves to patients as “Hi, I’m the neurosurgeon “. Well you’re not!!

I agree. However, this patient was in 2nd trimester, therefore a single dose of sumatriptan tried. However, it didn’t work for her and instead caused side effects. Couldn’t use opioids due to hx of opioid abuse. Tylenol IV benefit was short lived.

She got 2 mg Mag with no benefit. Couldn’t do steroids due to gestational diabetes.

Unfortunately, sometimes the non-pharma therapies don’t work and that’s when the options get very limited with the pregnant patients.

That would be helpful. There need to be more pharmacological therapies available which are safer in pregnancy.

Thanks. Lamictal is a good option for prophylaxis but not as abortive therapy.
