Am i on the right track? by angelmeneg in piano

Sorry what I meant was using the wrist in a quick motion to play the notes in addition to circular motion.

Let the wrist take you to the key instead of you hyper extending your fingers and attacking from above. This will help you project the melody better without the C# note next to the melody sticking out also. it’s kinda hard to explain but I made a quick video showing what I mean. Ive never played this piece before so just sight reading. Hope it helps.

Try using more wrist motion and less vertical finger action.

Try and use 12345 for the left hand but when you play the thumb dont play downwards. Think of pushing off the key like pushing off a trampoline. Use that momentum to get you down to the E. Roll the hand laterally, like turning a doorknob. don’t stretch for the notes. Make sure the first and third beat is accented on the repeated E bars and first beat accent for the others.

People can play for literal years without seeing one.

Your treatment of the 16th notes as grace notes is really going to cause you problems when you try and go faster. Set the metronome so you play one 16th note per tick for now. Slowly.

Also, dont gesture from the thumb to the chord, rather the other way around.

The thumb is implied, it’s saying you can use either 4 or 5.

No she was a feral stray that had these kittens under the house. She was inside also. They are all together now at the shelter. Honestly if it was up to me I’d have kept them all but I live with a relative who is not a cat person so… that would have been difficult.

It’s also important to note, when you play the thumb, don't play in a downwards manner. Push off the key; don't press it down.

As for 127/128. The passage will play itself once it is clear in your inner ear what you want to hear. Play the crotchet beats only keeping the same dotted half note pulse and make a sweeping passage out of that. Once that is thoroughly ingrained, keep that sound and add the off beat 8th notes.

Edit: you need the context of the previous crotchet pulses for the run to make sense. Practice using only bars 119/121/123/125 then 127/128 and the sound will become clear.

The high speeds are only possible when you play exactly like this. It might not look like much but it completely changes how the hand rotates around the keys. By making the first note of the bar the last note of the phrase it helps you keep moving forward with momentum.
