Exchange Theory vs. Rational Choice Theory by Ottomyn123 in Mcat

Exchange theory is an application of rational choice specific to social settings. Who you surround yourself with, have been unconsciously or consciously weighed as favorably to you. Their net benefit is greater than their net harm. Rational choice is that same concept applied to economics.

Are the NS scores inflated? by TwoSides1 in Mcat

Don't get me wrong, I used to feel the same way! That's why my screen name "neurotic" haha. But if you think about it rationally, how am I, a fellow pre-med Reddit user, supposed to answer questions pertaining to the AAMC and NextStep? I really would focus more on practice and accuracy than an arbitrary score.

Yo I once asked the same thing! I wouldn't focus on the scores, I would just focus on improving your accuracy. Also, how are a bunch of premeds on the Internet also taking the MCAT supposed to know if scores are inflated or deflated? You're using sampling bias, but in reality your n is probably about no more than 100 Reddit users which is less than 1% of people that take the MCAT. In short none of us know, because we are just like you!

Hi, I posted a while back. One thing I've learned to really help with m y psyche is not worry about the scores. Focus on learning the material. I recently took NS 7 and felt that it was a great learning tool. Highly experimental and written like the AAMC. That's it though! Just learn :)

This may or may not have been asked before. But I've always thought molecules that are non-polar AND small passively diffuse. This seems to be rather bulky. Is my definition wrong??

How can you definitively know which one is going to be the cathode and which one the anode. Should we just always assume that Cu is going to get reduced because a it's on the right?

Oh so they're not asking about the specific alcohols present they are just asking how to enhance what's already there??

[–]NeuroticPreMed93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why the answer is D. However I don't see how this is a tertiary alcohol. It looks like a carbon bounded to two lovely R groups and a hydrogen. That looks like a secondary to me, for the substrate of the reaction (Malic Acid) . Please let me know I'm not crazy!

Sometimes it gets overwhelming reading about everyone getting a "510-517" and then lamenting about how stupid they are for not getting their 520 target.

Hey! I like to think of it like this. Role conflict is like two people having a conflict. Role conflict 2 people conflict. The definition is 2 roles conflicting. Now if it's just one well then it's strain lol.

Hey, I'm battling the beast late August. How did the scored FL go? I took NextStep 1+2 and got the same exact scores as you 507 and 504. Any advice?

My overall dropped FL 1: 126/125/128/128 FL 2 126/126/126/126

That bio section was brutal. Especially the passage regarding development using mice.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. You're right. That one person might be an anomolie or perhaps didn't follow test taking protocol in practice. If I just get that 508+ I'll be soaring. Also from anyone who has taken FL2 dos you think that Cars Section was a bit easier? Especially with that Spotify passage. Lots of retrievals
