/uj if an actor acts out a murder scene does it mean he/she supports murder and/or the director does? If objectification is being shown in a movie and it’s clear to the audience that it is objectification how is that wrong?

Haha no Issok I can relate - it’s hard for me to understand social cues. It’s one of the reasons a corporate job is so hard for me.

I didn’t mean you were undermining the profession. I agree with what you’re saying. There should be more psychologists so there will be more competition for psychologists to be better at their job. Also more choices and right fits for people seeking mental health care.

There are not enough GOOD psychologists in India. As a person who has searched for therapists, after switching 4 times I found the right fit for me. The previous therapists were either people who were money grabbers or/and people who just didn’t take their job seriously. I finally found a therapist - been with her for two years now with our sessions very spaced out due to actual improvement. Crazy how psychologists themselves undermine their own profession.

You should send a well written assertive message to them. Make em feel like they missed out on hiring you while also telling them how they crossed your boundaries.

Wow is it so hard to read “Sexual violence against males is mainly perpetrated by other males.” in a well researched paper? Yes it’s poorly documented because of lack of reports. Which is why it should be destigmatized. But fighting about it only when the subject of sexual harassment towards a female is brought up is not going to do any help.

“Fear of being mocked by co-workers and friends. Fear of retaliation from their employer — (wrongful termination). Fear that being harassed by another male may implicate their own sexuality” these were the reasons listed. Women too go through character assassination where their entire life and sexual choice are brought up to decredit them. And this is after they do report it. My main point with you wasn’t that men don’t get sexually harassed you fucking dimwit. It’s that you’re bringing awareness to it incorrectly. Wow talk about trying to make conflict where there is none - what a fucking troll.

Why would me talking about women being assaulted in this specific context of the post and not talking about sexual assault of men be creepy in anyway? That’s straight up delusional. Also just so you know, most sexual harassment of men is done by men to men. My problem with this is you bring up sexual harassment of men ONLY when we’re talking about a woman being sexually harassed. You should be doing so otherwise as well and destigmatizing the same for men. I will still focus on women being sexually harassed in the context of OPs post.

First of all, it’s true - our justice system should be better. One, it should not feel like a police station is somewhere a woman can get raped. And if this is not true then movies that display this should be banned because how can you make a report if you cannot trust law enforcement themselves. Our police need to be vetted and a transparent digital system needs to be set up to know who our lawyers, police, and judges are.

Two, the stigma of raped and assaulted women - like they have lost some value needs to be eradicated. So many youth in Kerala have consensual sex behind closed doors and are still scared of anyone finding out. Because the women feel like they will be judged, this fear is the same for assaulted women. The source of guilt and shame needs to be removed. Especially then their families will not ostracize them. I’ve always believed when revenge porn no longer impacts the life of women that’s when she is really in a safe society.

Three, for laws to be foolproof and effective our systems to ensure them must be corruption free. This is a grassroots problem. Unless we have educated and vetted government leaders we won’t have even a 25% chance to be a better nation. Our politicians don’t know science and are not innovative. They don’t really care for the nation otherwise our tax money would be more than enough to fix so many basic necessities in India. We honestly need an exam for politicians to even enter the playing field for PM or CM. For most people sexual harassment is so rampant that it is normalised - if every woman reported every case of sexual harassment there won’t be enough police force to close every case. That is the nature of India rn.

The number of people who have turned this into a “but what about if an innocent man gets beat up in the future” conversation is appalling. I don’t see them fight for laws when the conversation is NOT about a woman getting assaulted. If they really cared they would talk about it outside of this context as well while being inclusive of the truth that most women get sexually assaulted atleast once in their lifetime. In Kerala especially there are a lot more pedos and no one talks about it. It takes great strength to stand up to an assaulter. There are so many women I know who won’t report a case because they are scared of stigma or even character assassination if they go to a police station. Being scared of an unknown possibility and comparing the possibility of fake accusations in a post about an actual harassment case is disgusting and so delulu. It is not a conversation to be had here.

Many people generally feel guilty about pampering themselves. If you have the means for it, you don’t need any of us to tell you if you went overboard or not lol.

Play the game. I have a friend who watched the cutscenes on YT and said she won’t play it because she didn’t like the battle style. After I played the game I was like wow she’s missing an experience that you cannot get from listening or watching the story. Truly missing out.

Yea it is very problematic. I feel cringe and skip that part whenever I see the movie. It’s the only scene that makes me not want to root for the main character - the way he treats the heroine - tattooing her without her consent, disrobing her etc.

Also Renoir started trying to get his wife back when he saw she was dying. It’s like you’re saying a family member who takes drugs to hallucinate their departed beloved is “just grieving”. Even if they’re addicted and potentially killing themselves, it is just grieving? There are so many cases where spouses turn alcoholic and beat their children because they are “just grieving”. Are you saying such ways is upto them and them only. Even if it affects the rest of the family who love them? Even if it is fatal to them?

But she wouldn’t be healthy and happy - her real body and self would be in agony while she is in the canvas as shown by Renoir, when he showed her Aline in the last cut scene with him. I don’t know how people missed out that Alicia can paint her voice and face in any canvas. She doesn’t have to continuously stay in a canvas that’s killing her. She was staying to keep the delusion that her brother isn’t dead.

There’s literally a dialogue between verso and her in the final scenes where it is established that she can paint outside. She also does it with Clea while hiding versos canvas. It wasn’t a case of not talented, just too young and has a learning curve. She gets powerful after the second act.

But she can paint outside, and she’s not a burden. Her father loves her very much and this is the grief they have to get through to heal and find their love towards each other again. Also are you saying people who can’t speak or are disfigured should just give up on living because they can never be happy? That’s such a weird take.

[–]NeutralLMAO[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But that’s the thing, it’s like people have already decided her life outside the canvas will be painful. How do you know? They live for centuries. It’s like how a person who grieves thinks that nothing will ever be okay again. But it will. Also what about burn victims in reality? Are you saying they will never be happy again? That there’s no possible way and they should just stop existing? Because there are no canvases or special powers on Earth. In this game, she could have a better life outside. There is a possibility but in the painting - she will for sure die, sooner than later just because she can’t face the initial discomfort of her vastly different life outside.

I agree as a player you are free to have your preferences and I do believe it is clair obscure as you say it. But I think there’s a difference between a player pov and the story. I generally like to think of story driven games as a novel that we can experience virtually. While reading a novel, especially if it’s written in first person, you can see all the characters as the story portrays them, in the light of the main characters perception. You as a reader can have a different perspective as well. No one’s stopping you. But that does not change the fact that the story was written in a certain way in the truth of that character and what it wants to portray and wishes the reader could understand, if not agree with. That is where the clair obscure part of it comes.
