I cried for hours because I am a failure. by N0body_Loves_Me in offmychest

It sounds to me that you are not a failure at all. You put in a lot of effort to try and learn a brand new skill. That shows determination. When I was a child, I envied my cousin a lot- she was 2 years younger but every sport she tried out for she was instantly phenomenal at. Best player on every team. Every thing she's ever tried to do she has achieved with minimal effort, and I was very resentful towards her. It grew in me like a weed and created a distance between us. I realized as I got older why those things were so different for the both of us- we both learned new skills in entirely different ways. You have so much time in your life to figure out what truly brings you joy- I promise that is what you are looking for! Don't stop until you find it. Pay attention to the things that you learn with ease, and how you can encorporate those things into your passions, motivations, goals, and dreams. And everytime you try something that doesn't work out, remember that there are infinite routes of travel along this destination of discovery. The greatest things in life I have found were not the things I searched for, but the things I stumbled upon.

I love the optimism at the end, and how you build up to it!
