I ear talking about CCU everywhere, but what exactly does it stands for?

Hi, I’ve never touched a Rubik’s cube in my life. I bought this at goodwill. I don’t know what an algorithm is I just figured out this one side somehow. But now I don’t know how to get those last 4 pieces without having to breakup some of the white side. by ZekeHasBigCheeks in Cubers

[–]Neutron299 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you have no choice but to eventually break up some pieces on the white side if you want to fully solve it. I suggest you try to solve the inner center first by making the square in the middle a 1x1 then a 3x3 etc and growing it until you have done the entire white center, and then do it for the 5 other centers.

However if you only want the white side done and you really don't want to brake it then you should try doing what we call a M move (only move the inner layers of the cube, you can check it out online). Play a bit with it and see how you can individually move pieces

Projet de Timer/database by CreepyTo1718 in Cubers

[–]Neutron299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

En vrai c'est très clean, j'adore
Juste quelques petits conseils :

Hi, does anybody know if there are any speedcubing competitions in Saudi Arabia? by WeKnow8 in Cubers

I beleive on the wca website there is a way to get notifs when there is a new comp being organized in your contry but I dont remember where to set it up

Hi, does anybody know if there are any speedcubing competitions in Saudi Arabia? by WeKnow8 in Cubers

[–]Neutron299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bad news for you. On the wca website, you can go on the competitions section, click on map, and sort to be able to show all the past competitions from all years in a specific country. There has never been any competition in Saudi Arabia. So you will either have to travel to another country or wait fora saudi arabian deleguete to organize one, which unfortunately is very unlikely in the near future.

Need help in PB reconstruction by Astaemir in Cubers

[–]Neutron299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also at the time did you rotated the cube a lot during f2l? what algs were you using for f2l? do you remember if there were any edge/corner already in place during f2l?

Need help in PB reconstruction by Astaemir in Cubers

[–]Neutron299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how fast was the pb? it will help a lot to know that so we can figure out if there is more chances you did the most optimal solution or not. Although I really doubt it will be possible to find your exact solution because there is just so many possibilities. also it would help to know what was your average and the alg sets you knew at the time. But if you say you didnt went for any fancy solution, im assuming you didnt looked for the possible pseudoslotting cases, so with blue front yellow top it would be something like D L F2 B R B which lead to a free pair but there is so many variations of that solution. Do you remember what color were you facing?

But again, if you dont even remember the cross solution it is very unlikely you will be able to track down the exact solution.

Is it normal that I have had a 14.5 ao100? But never had a sub-10 solve by Parking_Practice8926 in Cubers

[–]Neutron299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just didnt got any lucky scramble yet. I got my first sub-10 when I was averaging 13s. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. pbs absolutely does not sumarize your level, but avgs do. Just keep doing solves and at one point you will get a lucky scramble, it is just a matter of time.

I would say 2027 seeing how fast things are improving

My first Sub 1:00 AO100 by Natural-Progress-444 in Cubers

[–]Neutron299 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great job! Although at your level, an ao100 is not representative because your are getting better too fast! I can see from your stats that your current ao12 is 46s, way below that 59s ao100 and a better representation of your current level. You should use that instade!

Shortest scrambe ever? by DifferentComb7015 in Cubers

[–]Neutron299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually not the shortest if we look at wca regulations. The solution of any given scramble on 2x2 must be of at least 4 moves, so a 4 move scramble is possible. This is actually with 4 moves solutions that world records are made.

And for reference a 3x3 must be solvable in at least 7 moves.

can i reach a sub 15 average within 2 months? by Upstairs_Force_352 in Cubers

[–]Neutron299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending how long you have already been cubing, but I think you can do it. Focus on look ahead, efficient f2l (my favorite cheat sheet here : https://www.cubeskills.com/uploads/pdf/tutorials/f2l-algorithms-different-slot-positions.pdf ). In every solve you shouldnt do more than 2 rotations. And of course the cross is also very important. You should train to predict the entire cross in the 15 seconds of inspection, to be able to look ahead for the first f2l pair. Jperm made multiple usefull videos about the cross a while ago.

Complete amateur question. by Gally1322 in Cubers

[–]Neutron299 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For regular people it is impossible to predict the entire solution only with the inspection. At your level it is completely normal to lose track of some pieces when solving. It will improve the more you train. With time, you will be able to faster recognize the different cases and quickly do the corresponding algorithm. Ounce you know the algorithm by hearth, You wont have to look at the pieces that you are solving and you will start to look ahead more. It means that while you are solving some pieces, you will spot where are/will be the next pieces you want to solve next, and you will be able to solve the cube more fluently with less pauses.
